Athletic AM-
It really does depend on the guys features and facial shape, and a good stylist can help you take all this into consideration.
I do double takes for a nice long thick ponytail I admit...but not every guy can go through that growing out process and still stay sane ( lol) , nor might it work for their lifestyle.
Russell Wong just consistently has the greatest haircuts. Hands down number one hair, though Won Bin does have a cute look. The spiky messy look Won carries off great, but now that he is older, you will see in more current pictures he has a much shorter more controlled look.
Michael Wong also has great hair - I like his " devil may care" buzzed look. Theres something to be said about being so confident that the hair is treated so...cruelly....
The turn-offs for me are the " gelled into petrification " look - hair should be touchable, not a work of frozen art. A little product is fine, and even that wet look is ok - I am talking the guys whose hair won't budge in a gale force wind.
The other look I can't say I care for is that strange ridge of bangs standing up 3 inches...didn't that mall look belong to the women of the malls in the 8o's? How did that filter down to Asian men ??lol..And bleaching it blonde does nothing to help the matter!!
Ok, my 2 cents worth. Try going to Russell Wong's website and you will see pictures of him with everything from a shaved head ( lets pass on that look for now...) to much longer...the styles in between are perfection!!

My hair is down to my butt. It's very thick and completely straight. Can you give a suggestion on a shining shampoo- conditioner that is also a de-tangler? I love my hair; a lot of guys always look at me because of it.

beachgerl ,
hey my oldest sis hair is almost dyed like yours (it's not exactly blonde but brunette).and i think it's suits her well bc she has super white skin and baby fine black hair before.she now has brown , permed hair with highlights and she looks good with it. i think she would have looked good with her black her but the change makes her prettier.well i guess it bothers me if an af ends up looking like trailer trash after she dyes her hair (ive seen it around a couple of times , split ends, black roots, ugh).

vietgirl ,
john freida curly hair products are great. he also has straightening products too . i used one of his leave in conditioner/straightener and it made my hair straight and softer. i had to stop using it though because it made my hair too flat:P.

i used to have hair to my butt, and then I cut it all off and gave it away. Short hair was all right for a while, but overall, I think the best length for thick asian hair is medium length to long (but not as long as I had it), with some sort of layering.
