WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
For those who are disbelievers of blonde Asians, check out http://www.allclarissa.com and http://www.tilashotspot.com they're beautiful blondes, so think twice before you say anything like "blonde color looking ridiculous" on AF. You're JUST jealous of ladies like those who can carry it very well! Again, like I mentioned before, not all Asians can look good in blonde. Some are better off with dark hair. It's a personal choice.
To Wanna be blonde too and Hapa Chick:
I suggest you to go to any beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty) and buy any SEMI-PERMANENT or TONER from either Clairol Born Blonde, Radiance or Complements or Wella Color Charm. Be careful, if you buy a permanent color, it will burn your scalp and cause severe damage 'cause the volume of the developer is too strong for hair that has been prelightened. Look for those with no ammonia or no peroxide, which those products I mentioned tend to have either no ammonia or very low ammonia. Don't buy with ANY drugstore brands, they ONLY work on hair that is naturally from medium brown to light blonde! To prelighten you hair to lighter shade, use Complements or 7th Stage lightener (Complements comes with 2 activator packs, 7th Stage get 3 packs) and 20 vol. creme developer (don't get 30 or 40!), they're for on-the-scalp and gentle on your hair and scalp! You will have to go as light as yellow (think of outside banana, the fruit, peel) or pale yellow (inside-the-banana) in order to achieve medium or light blonde. You must try to get rid of gold, orange or red (they WILL appear during the process and leave it in for 90 minutes, but if not all gold has got out, re-apply till you reach creamy banana peel yellow or pale yellow). If you only get to brassy yellow/orange color, then you only can become a medium or dark blonde!
Avoid ANY ash shades (like Light, Medium or Dark Ash Blonde), it will make you look grayed out. Choose any neutral or natural blonde shades. AVOID any golden-blond shades, will make you look too yellow - hence, that look Asians looked awful in! Look for blue-violet base (for yellow hair) in colors, but if your hair's more orange, choose the colors with blue base. If hair more reddish, use green base. Yellow + violet = neutral blonde, orange + blue = neutral blonde, red + green = neutral blonde. Hope you can understand all of this!
If you have more questions, e-mail me below! I have a new one. Again, if you don't like blonde hair, then DON'T do it! I love being blonde and I am light neutral blonde now.

I think asian girls with blonde hair look ridiculous, and so do most people I know. It looks so fake and not at all right with their skin coloring. And whether or not they're trying to look white, it makes them look like they are.
don't do it

beachgerl - what colour rinse are you talking about to reduce the brassiness? and how soon after you've coloured with the first colour before you go with the second one?

Beachgerl- I have e-mailed you, but no reply yet. I really want to know your secrets for achieving blonde-ness while avoiding brassiness!

if your hair is that heavy, getting a loose perm is just going to be pulled straight by the weight / length of your hair. You need a bit of a trim, and then maybe the wave will take, but if it hurts to put it in a ponytail, trying a chemical on your hair to puff it up is not going to be effective at all. Trust me -- I've been there, and it doesn't work.
Also, maybe if it hurts to be put in a ponytail, maybe your hair is just not used to be pulled in that direction --when I didn't put my hair up very often, the stress of having it going back instead of just straight down really hurt my scalp, and now it is fine.
thick thick hair!

HELP!!! I have VERY thick, pin straight mid-length hair, slightly layered/angled to take some of the weight off. I have had this style for sooolong and I am so sick of wearing it parted down the middle, behind my ears! It is so heavy that it is even difficult to wear it ina ponytail. I am seriously considering a loooooose bodywave, just to give it a little lift/bounce. Any suggestions out there? PLease email me if you have any experiences, advice, etc....it would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
