WHAT YOU SAY

I like red hair dyes of all sorts. I'm naturally brown haired-- wihout dye it looks on the ashier side and is fine. Tried everything from the Run-Lola-Run red to natural red highlights. The latest one I've tried (second chance trial for this brand) was Garnier Nutrisse. Don't bother with this brand. It really washes out quickly. I'm about to try the Herbal Essences dye. It looks promising, but I'll report back in about 4 weeks ;o) The best dye I've found on the drugstore shelves is L'Oreal Preference Creme dye. The red stays true for a long time and when it fades, the remaining color is nice.

I'm a Chinese woman with natural brown hair. When it grows out, the tips become light brown. I've always wondered how I would look with black hair. I've tried dying it, but the color was too black for me. Do you know of any brand I should use? Thanks.

im asian n i have light brown hair with blonde highlights (fyi not coz i want to be white as other ppl on this msg board seem to think, although honestly i would rather be accused of that, then look like a FOB)....anyway i am seriously considering getting my hair "magic straight permed" coz i heard it makes ur hair less damaged....does any1 know if this applies to bleached hair as well? or only 4 virgin hair n will damage my hair more coz my hair is heavily dyed?

Obsessed with Hair

I don't think the Magic Straight Perm is suppose to make your hair look shinier. Have you heard of the Yuko System, it's suppose to make your hair shinier, but in your case, your hair is already straight, so you wouldn't need. My hair is naturally kinda wavy, frizzy and damaged, and I got the yuko treatment, it didn't make my hair shinier, actually it seems drier and more brittle. Some people with curly and frizzy and healthy hair got it done and they said that their hair is more shiny, I just think that is because their hair is straighter, and straight hair always look shinier than curly. I think my hair was already damaged so it didn't work well on my hair. My advice, keep the hair you have, I mean, it's straight, and alot of people who get this done still have to blow dry their hair.

all these asian guys with long yellow hair look like gays. They are all slender and skinny and on top of that they have long blond hair. You guys must have forgot that that type of style is for females not guys. You guys want to look white so your asian women can like you better. how pathetic...

Im asian with long light brown hair and blonde highlights (fyi i didnt do it to try n be white - although i hafta say i would rather be accused of that, then look like a FOB)....anyway, my real reason for posting this msg is im considering getting my hair Magic Straight Permed...my hair is actually quite straight and im really only wanting to do this to cut down on blowdrying and i heard it makes ur hair real shiny....does any1 know if this is true or will it just damage my hair more?

tip to the asian ladies... i bet i'm not the only guy who's sick of the overdyed hair. Naturally jet black shiny hair and golden white skin. The best. ;) Getting old seeing hordes of Asian women with blonde hair.

Asian women have beautiful hair and skin. Those are our best assets. Too bad... because so many older Asian women over perm their hair and end up looking like a poodle.

Arantxa,
I similar hair- very thick hair that is frizzy all around except for the top which is flat. I blow out my hair using Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops. That helps smooth it out. Believe it or not, body lotion works miracles! Just rub about a dime-sized amount in your palms then smooth it over dry hair. Another thing, I just got my hair cut and my stylist "carved" the bottom half of my hair (I have long hair to the middle of my back). It seemed like she was cutting a bunch of hair but she kept the length and just thinned it out. It helped make my hair less heavy, thus I can achieve more height on top, but it's still frizzy. Lotion and/or Gloss Drops help. My hair also looks better if I only wash it every other day. Good luck!
