Why all the hoopla over height. Of course being tall is advantageous, but it doesn't guarentee you anything. For instance the US thought it could go and wipe out the short dudes in Vietnam but were routed. Langston Hughes was only 5'4 and that didn't keep him from being a great poet. I see and know a lot of tall dudes who can't write, dance, play sports, mac, nor fight a lick. The reason the tall ones, especially the pompous Northern Chinese(I don't know whether it's true or not that they're on average 6'6 as so many visitors here claim them to be) get so worked up about height is that they can't claim whiteness so they resort to height to back up their supposed superiority.
The more important question is which Asian ethnicity boasts the women with the biggest titties. I've been to the small islands and cities in Japan and some of the women there are so stacked. Great cartoons and big boobs. I love Japan.

Isn't the tallest asian basketball player a North Korean player. He is 7feet 6 inches tall. The myth regarding racial mix. Before Koreans were mixed by Chinese. Then Genghis Khan invaded China. So we can say its mongolian blood. The cow milk drinking genes that contributed Northern Asian height.
by Korean dude.

Again, I don't think that N. Chinese average 6 foot, even Americans don't average 6 ft. I have been to N. China, and yes, I was impressed because I have never been around so many physically tall and robust Asians, even when I've been around all the Chinese, Korean, Japanese Americans.
The average height is probably roughly around the American height, though the average weight is probably significantly lower. N. Chinese are generally stocky people but generally do not work out, or as a negative side, get obese like Americans.
In many other Asian countries, like Korea and Japan, you only see the younger generation getting near Western heights. But in N. China, even the middle-aged and older people can be quite tall, 6 ft plus. And generally, the middle aged men are quite built and stocky too. This is incredible since most of these people subsisted on next to nothing until only the recent future. Teenagers and other young people are usually still generally slim, but I think this is due to their fast metabolism and not having the weight-lifting, workout-intensive lifestyle of Americans.

The average height of North Korean guards at the DMZ is 170 cm. (5'7'') The average heigh of South Korean guards at teh DMZ is 182 cm. (6') This is a documented fact.
As to the genetics of Japanese & Koreans, 98.9% of them share the identical gene pool, making Japanese & Koreans almost indistinquishiable.
At the turn of the century, average height of Northern Americans was only about 5'6''. Billy the Kid was only 5' tall which would have made him a midget in today's standard.
Currently, the average height of Japanese male is 5'11'' which is taller than the average height of Korea male(South Korea)
Why don't you look up some census reports before writing this kind of crap? They are readily and widely available.

Japanese have traditionally been people of 2 differing heights. The commoners were no different from the Malays and Southeast Asians in height, while the nobility can be as tall as the Northern Chinese.
It is said that the in the ancient past, over 1/3rd of the Japanese aristocrats were able to trace descent from Korean and Chinese refugee families. So, one can guess why the nobility of Japan have always been taller than the commoners.
But, now this is changing due to much improved diets, the increasing disuse of sitting and squatting on floor mats (which some think causes stunt of height growth), and the fact that commoners and upper classes are increasingly marrying each other, thus blurring the lines of height difference.

I think the ancient Koreans were probably the same height as the modern northern Han Chinese. During the 1500s, the Japanese under the Samural warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi invaded Korea and massacred over 1/5th of the population (mostly child bearing age males). Of course, they also raped the women and left behind some illegitimate kids. This drop and influx of Japanese blood and genes may have shortened the Korean height, although Koreans are still on average taller than Japanese. You find this especially true for South Koreans living nearest the southernmost parts of the peninsula.
North Koreans are taller and brawnier than South Koreans and that might be attributed to admixture with Northern Han Chinese too. This height difference among Koreans might have changed due to the starvation going on now in N. Korea and the fact that South Koreans have more meat and milk to consume. Maybe they have already reached parity by now? But, on TV, when you see the North and South Korean officials at the border talking reunification matters, the North Korean guys still tower over the South Korean ones.

"I don't care if China was first settled by Caucasoids or Mongoloids. Both race's blood, genes and DNA are in all of us Chinese descended people. Add in the Malays, Negritos and Australoids as well. Being Chinese is not a race. It has always been a cultural phrase. One that is always inclusive and absorbing of others."
Wow!!!! It sounds like the chinese are multiracial.
I am writing them off my list of mongolians.

Article not to be misleading,
DNA that are similar is the result of it inevitably being from the same source. If you studied the dynamics of it, this is very simple and basic.
You can contact the authors and researchers of this article. The original paper was more extensive. It showed that the people of Linzi, Shandong during the Warring States Period (700-400 BCs) were similar to modern Persians and Turks in phenotype. Then, during the Han Dynasty (200 BCs to 220 AD), the Linzi people resembled modern Central Asians (white/Mongoloid mix) and now the present Shandong people are no different from other northern Han Chinese. There must a heavy Caucasoid/West Asian genetic substratum in all Han Chinese. mtDNA (passed by mothers only) studies confirm this, not just in Shandong.
China was not cut off from Caucasoids. Just look at its western borders today, and they are still the cutoff point between the white (albeit a Middle Eastern one) and yellow races. During the Han and Tang, numerous Caucasoid/Persian women either migrated to China with their merchant husbands and fathers or were abducted back as "war brides and trophies of war."
mtDNA comes only from the mother's side.
Even the earliest Chinese legends speak of the first mythical emperor eliminating a white race in warfare and absorbing the rest. So, even the earliest Chinese were a mix of Mongoloid and Caucasoid.
History is being confirmed through DNA testing. Why should we deny this?
I don't care if China was first settled by Caucasoids or Mongoloids. Both race's blood, genes and DNA are in all of us Chinese descended people. Add in the Malays, Negritos and Australoids as well. Being Chinese is not a race. It has always been a cultural phrase. One that is always inclusive and absorbing of others.
