I wonder if the Asian American journalists in Houston really understand Asian 'culture'. I heard that Sandra Gin doesn't speak Chinese. They might be Asians on the outside, but not inside. Also, Sandra, Shermin Chow, and Patty Shieh-Davis married outside of their race which indicates that they most likely don't remember much about Asian culture or whether the culture had little influence on their lives.

The numbers dont lie:

You forgot to mention Arlington (adjacent to Dallas). It seems like there is a higher concentration of asians (particuliarly vietnamese) in Arlington than Dallas...but then again, it could seem that way b/c the city is smaller.

Between Dallas, Arlington, and Houston...Houston has a stronger AA community. AA areas in Arlington and Dallas (actually, the AA are in Garland) are so ghetto. Also, I dont recall seeing any AA representation in the media or politics in Dallas...please inform me if you know of any.

In terms of job opportunities and growth...Dallas is your best bet. The city and the surrounding area is flourishing at a rapid rate...for this reason, I think the AA communities is bound for growth in the near future.

me, sorry for the late response. I can't speak for the whole state of California, but the part I was in consisted of average looking people. I'm sure there are some pretty ones there, just as there are any other place. I think that people are much the same wherever you go. You'll always have the pretty ones and the ugly ones, where most people fall in between. I wouldn't say the South has more fat people then anywhere else, but that's not to say standards differ depending on regions. Who knows! Take care.

Heads up Fellas:

Sandra Gin, former KHOU-11 Anchor and current KHOU reporter just recently wed Tom Tynan, a Houston guy who hosts a handyman call in show on KTRH radio and a couple of Cable TV Shows on home Repair on the Do It Yourself channel. The guy has a nice face and is in good shape, but dang is he BALD!!!

Oh well, I hope they're happy!
