WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
Jackie Chan. In "who am I" when he slides down the building he's attached to a wire. In any of the movies where Jackie takes a hit and flies backwards that is wires also. "Armor of the Gods" when he is in the monestary fighting the women with the Afros, some of that was wired. In "Drunken Fist II" the final fight scene in the factory, was also some wires involved in that.
Jet Li, In "Once upon a China" in the rain scene with the Log. That was wires. In the warehouse scene with the ladders, that was wires as well. In the theater scene where he jumping up and hit the true love of Auntie #13, that was wires as well.
Bruce Lee's move are pridictable. If I had a needle full of smack, and place it next to me. Then went off to insult Bruce. I suspect he would go for the smack to ease his troubles. He's a druggie that ODed.
Your right movies don't show all about martial arts. That's why you need to augument your movie watching with video game practice. For hand-to-hand I would recommend Tekken and Virtual Fighter seriers. For Weapons Soul Calibur and Soul Edge Series. For Super Chi and Combo the Street Fighter Series. 3 hours of moives and $20 worth of quarter everyday, will make a master out of anyone in no time.
S.Siegal...oh please anyone that needs to fight a rap star in a movie, has basically fallen off the radar screen as a martial artist. He need at least $50 worth of quarters a day on Virtual Fighter.
W.Snipes...Blood 2 he had a puppet fight as him in a CG with another puppet. That is really sad. Even Jet Li doesn't sink that low, he just had to beat himself up, and become the final highlander.

JTUK,
Look! I told you the truth here. I almost got raped by a gang of Black men twice. I'm just 5'4" with big bone frame. And you know how big the black men are."IF" I don't have able to kick with thrust and power, I wouldn't able to knock them down to save myself from being raped.
Of course, the strength in gymnastics and TaeKwonDo are diffrent. In Gymnastics slow gentle movement, not much force action. I'm wasting my effort to achieve TaeKwonDo black belt, IF couldn't able to kick and punch with thrust and power.
Yeah. I agree be like Bruce Lee counters rather than attack.
Yes. Van Dam not do many punches. Just active in kicks action.

Hey I never told anyone to take steroids to get big. What in the world are you talking about?. Get the facts straight. Alright. I'm full s***???. Oookay.
Well I am very interested in the SEALs, train and fight like them. But it doesnt make me always want to kill. I am a purely defensive fighter. Active defense. There are some people that choose to attack others. I am there to make sure that dont happen.
Well, glad you beat the crap out of them. And dont doubt my fighting ability, I never hesitate to use it when needed.

whoa
excuse me kalani sorry to burst your bubble but how can you say i am proud of the sos when i am not even samoan. all i was referring to was the label they recieved as the most dangerous gang in southern california back in 1985 by the los angeles times and how everyone feared them during those rough dayz. back in the 80s we immigrated to carson where we lived until 94 and let me tell you nobody messed with the samoans and tongans. there was a big fight here in 93 when the soles roughed it up with these hawaiians from the hive. i always thought polys stuck together but after seeing those hawaiians getting broken down like that it wiped out everything i thought was true about poly unity. kalani how can you even put maoris and mongols in the same sentence? i dont see anything on books and history about maoris conquering other pacific islands. i know of tui tonga and tui manu'a ruling huge parts over the pacific at different times because my island buddies bragged so much about them and i did look them up on the net. i havent seen anything about maoris though. do you have anymore news about this hawaiian martial art? bone crushing art? does it just involve hands?
