WHAT YOU SAY

Mar-nut,

In a real down and dirty fight the point is to get the guy down, where you can be in a position of control.

2 years earlier when I got into the fight with a group of drunk frat boys. I was outdoors and I was planning to compete for a spot on the olympic tkd team. So with 35 hours of training a week, allowed me to show off a bit and kick people around with full extension strikes.

There were many reasons for going the direction I did. I haven't sparred in over 2 years, my last street fight was 2 years, I wasn't at my competitive weight and not fight in my normal weight in about 7 years.

We were about the same size height wise. But I was 6 year older and have sparred national caliber athletes in TKD. Unless this kid was an altheletic/fighting genius, experience was on my side.

He had numbers on his side and the fact I didn't know his fighting style. So unless he was a judo/wrestling trained, I was easier to just nuetralize him on the floor and have my way with him until his friends decided to jump in.

Punching and kicking. Look to have extremely sever impact (quivering blows) with a striking technique, you have to train a lot. My old schedule was 35 to 40 hours a week in training with national champs and olympians in TKD. 2 years without sparring or serious training makes you question if you still got it. I once broke a finger in a training free spar session with a white belt. You never know what can happen in a fight sometimes.

Also I was in a heavy leather trench since it was winter. So unless I slipped out of my jacket, prior to kicking the kids ass. There was a limited amount of techniques I could be effective with.

K.Rae,

I never fight on school grounds. A lot of your civil rights are impeded as a student

AC-dropout,

dude ...glad u stomp him good ..although mindless violence is wrong ..anybody no matter what race they are who makes a racist remark deserves to get a beating...even though i got kicked out from my high school for beating the crap out of a redneck bully. it was worth it just to let the rage out on a racist scumbag

AC Dropout:

Interesting, so you pushed him and then stomped on him with your leg (TaekwonDo training kicking in?)

Did you felt it was more effective than punching him in the face or hitting him first? or was it better for you to push him down to the floor in a more vulerable position to hit him?

I agree that attack is better than talking or defense especially when you know the odds are stacked up against you.

I was also wondering were you taller or shorter than the idiot teenager you were hitting? Did size really matter in this case?

Did anybody see the fight between BOB SAPP & tsuyoshi nakasako (in Japan k-1 event)?

Mar-nut,

Well the fight occured in the those double door partition area that stores use to save on heat and A/C. Not much room for pretty full extension strikes. Basically, just went up to him and push him down (pushing hands first movement) on the floor and stomp on his face and chest (WWF style). He passed out when I toe kicked him in the temple area.

The reason I did not say anything is that it was a 7 to 1 match up. The girls were not gangster girls. There was only a closet space to fight in. I needed to get the center position in that space as quickly as possible, to control the doors if they decided to bum rush me.

I overestimated the fighting spirit of the group. By my 1st stomp on the guys head. His group of friends scatter out either side of the doors.

PS - I only talk when I need to draw attention to an impending fight. Or if I know someone to be of some skill, I will try to rile them up to get them off balance.

Novices in public fighting always ask me "Do you want to fight?" To which I always response "NO!" then I follow up with a quick attack.

TSJ,

Those were good games. Karate Champ was a classic.

DOA, I'm kinda of split on that one. Kick butt women, but the game play and the AI was sorta dumbed down.

Some fighting games I enjoyed just because of the franchise. Like the marvel and x-men series.

Ever play those street fighter game with the mod chips in them that let you control fireball.
