im back from the darkness that nearly consumed me, and now in a much brighter light.
LKT,
i've read your past post and im intrigued. Are Asian gangs so prominent in the US? im from London and the kung-fu school which i learn is regarded by the traditionalist with high reputation.
One member of my school, long before i started learning martial arts, was involved with the triads and was kicked out of the school. He has since started his own school but are not seen as rivals to ours. We have a mutual respect among our schools and are not like gangs.
i cannot tell you what style is the best for you, since we are all limited to contraints such as costs, time and location.
But i can advise you to look for schools and try them out. if the style doesnt suit you, you know what to do.
but if u like it, learn what they teach you and if the sifu does not decide to teach you more then you'll have to look else where. you never know, a sifu teaching the "watered down" stuff might decide to teach you the "real-deal" stuff if you show enough determination ot learn.
Dont get bored by learning a simple move for ages, as you'll have to get the technique perfect.
lastly comes sparring, say you come to learn much from the sifu, yet he still does not teach you sparring, then you'll have to look for schools that teach sparring. you could try TKD for sparring and try to incorporate kung-fu with sparring.
well, enough of my page long post
good luck to you.

AC Dropout:
Thanks I'm still looking for the real Kung-fu to study and so far have not found any. The real ones who know, don't teach or advertise and those who don't know are like salesman pushing their wares.
I guess it is like a Enigma. You can't search for it, you can only discover it.
In the meantime, I'm doing Kickboxing and some wrestling. At least these two martial sports can give me something to do while I wait and search.
SOG:
You misread what I wrote but since you are so full of yourself, I'd gladly will shoot you with my glock if someone walks down the street such as yourself and don't worry I shoot quick but a terrible aim so you may bleed awhile before you see your Great SOG.

LKT,
I don't know what to say. Gangs learn how to fight from experience in street fights. After about 20 of so of them you get pretty good after a while, if your not dead yet.
Chinese Sifu would be very disappointed if their students join a gang. That is why many sifu do not teach sparring skills to their students until they are out of highschool.
This is not asia, so not many student or sifu expect that kind of close relationship to develop here.
You want to be a gang buster. Asian youth gangs come go in and out like fashion. LOL trying to bust up every one of them.
If you want to learn the real deal go to a lot of Chinese kung fu school. It should be too hard to figure out which ones will suit your needs. Real Kung Fu schools may not be what you expect. Sparring/fighting is not a lesson the Sifu will teach all his students.

TSJ and AC Dropout:
So you guys are saying that these gangheads already know how to fight?
From where? The school of hard knocks or is it still from a kung-fu school that teaches them?
Are the Sifu's in these kung-fu schools part of the gang also then? If his students are running around causing trouble wouldn't the Sifu be responsible for their actions? or is it because he is the GangLeader?
I'm asking these questions because I want to learn real Kung-fu. The real deal which is only taught to Asians not the watered down crap taught to whites. But at the same time I don't want to join it if it is only a front for a youth gang.
I know I would be a perfect candidate for them because I am Asian, I don't give a rat's ass about the society and also I don't like some people. But then again I don't like people who take advantage of other people and I dislike corruption and crime against humanity.
So that means that I could probably join their gang in a leadership and administrative level and then constructively tear them down. You know what? You guys do give me a good idea to maybe join the FBI or secret service and then infiltrate these gangs from the inside. At least, I can learn a self-defense system the FBI uses and also help my fellow citizens be protected from extortion.
Oh well, that is what I'm looking for is the real kung-fu used to kill and protect yourself and proven down the centuries. I know they exist and they are still being practised, it's just that they are not public and do not advertise.
So does anyone know any real kung-fu, systems or schools or individuals teaching that doesn't require you to join a stupid gang and is traditional in training and in application? Meaning it is the real thing not watered down and still can be applied in today's combat styles of BBJ or Kickboxing or am I to say that there is no more real Kung-fu and I should resign myself and join a BBJ and Kickboxing school instead?
