On this forum, I see a lot of Asian men complaining about their women dating White men and putting Asian MEN down! You men are no different from Black women complaining about our men and white women. What you all need to do is pick up and date a good black woman. The combination of AM's loyalty to their families and a BW's strong guidance and good nurturing, AM/BF relationships would indeed make this country a better place. Also, the computer nerd, insensitivity, and chop suey stereotypes are only bad if you buy into them! Besides, those stereotypes don't even have to be negative. Look at it this way:

I really have a problem with the lack of strong Asian male figures in entertainment. True, it's getting better these days, but it reminds me very much of the same problem we have with the media in the African American community. Just as all Black men are not lazy shiftless good-for-nothings, gun toting gangbangers, or rappers, all Asian men are not wimpy 90 lb.computer geeks, bespectacled math prodigies or Chinese food delivery boys. I hope that both communities will see even more imporvements in their media images in the future. Regarding Asian men specifically, I'd really love to see an Asian man in a truly romantic role in Hollywood -- I know from experience that an Asian man can be passionate and sexy, and it bugs me that Hollywood romances involving Asian men always seem so sterile and devoid of passion.

A comment on the draw weight of long bows: The draw weight of the english long bow was not 30-40 lbs. The sources I've seen (e.g., http://homepage.hitter.net/dholden/article.htm) estimate a draw weight of 80-110lbs. 50lbs is not difficult to draw at all. --hobbyist archer

This is kind of off-topic, but I've found a piece of information that supports the strength of Mongolian warriors. The bow and arrow was the traditional weapon of choice for Mongolian warriors, both for war and for hunting. Most contemporary European bows such as the English longbow yielded a weight of about 30-40 pounds when drawn back for firing arrows, while the Mongolian bow yielded a tremendous force of 165 pounds. These Mongolian warriors used these weapons with deadly accuracy while galloping at full tilt on their horses. Most men today would find it difficult to handle a draw weight of 50 pounds or more, and the standard olympic bos yields a draw weight of only around 30 pounds.

I think that all this shit about effeminate Asian men may be because of the dominance of Chinese culture in Asian history. The Confuscius Chinese values emphasized education over physical enrichment, and after thousands of years of such practices, the lack of emphasis on physical prowess took its toll on men from East Asian countries. In contrast, check out the Mongolians, who were a nomadic, warring people. These dudes, despite their minute size, were strong as oxen. Their survival depended on their physical prowess. If Mongolians had a large influence on Chinese culture until modern times, who knows? Most Asian men today may not be as stereotypically wimpy. Look at Korean men. They are descendants of the Mongol Stock. If you don't believe me, look at all the claims by Chinese chicks who claim Korean guys are manly on the polls.
