WHAT YOU SAY

[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
*sigh* is the idiot type person that will continue to denigrate us, and support Hollywood stereotypes. What a freaken idiot. The reason your Asian friend can say that is because he is making fun of himself (also probably has a low self-image). I bet if some white dude went up to him on the street and said "its kinda bright today, wanna borrow some floss", your friend wouldn't be laughing. I'm sorry, get a clue, open your mind, and accept the fact that this crap is racist.

"There is a difference between grading a person as less of a human being and poking fun at how they dress or their accent or whatever else people get so uptight about"

If you think poking fun of a minority because of their racial differences isn’t racist, well then you are flat out a PRACTICING RACIST.

When there are zero non-stereotype, positive, images of asians in the media, poking fun becomes "grading a race as less of a human being". If you can't see that you're a @#$% bigot. Holllywood can make fun of white people - dumb blondes, trailer trash, etc.., because the positive portrayals of white people far out way the negative. Also, because it is white Hollywood. It will always be a case of white people poking fun of themselves. For Asians, it is always, white people making fun of Asians. And that's a fact. When they say ignorance breeds racism, they're talking about people like you.

What is personal verocity about?

Yes, contrary to what some non-Asians might think, Chinatown has been in NY for over a 100 years. The area called Five Points in "Gangs of New York" is a real area in NYC. By 1880, over 1,000 Chinese lived in this area.
Probably the main reason Irish are treated as mainstream America is because of they look like any other white person. Simply being Asian makes us seen as outsiders.
It's very sad but even today, a 4th generation Asian would have a harder time being accepted in America than an Irish immigrant with an Irish accent.

Hell with the Japanese. We will never forget what the JApanese did during the rape of Nanking!

I see your point Chang. Gangs of New York does focus mainly on Irish immigrants, but the 5 points neighborhood in the early to mid 1800's was primarily Irish. The first organized street gang in America as we define it today was formed in the 5 points, in the early 1800's, by an Irishman, the 40 thieves. And as such, Scorsese could have easily ignored showing any asian faces at all.

"There's even a song I heard one time at the club...that had Me love you long time..as one of the lyrics."

Hehe... that song is a classic for all time! Me So Horny by 2 Live Crew! It's on the movie soundtrack, you know. Anyways, Full Metal Jacket is one of the finest, most realistic war movies of all time. What? You think they made all that stuff up?

we are in sooo much trouble.
we better make sure diana lee inosanto, mark dacascos and lucy liu keep out of harm's way in hollywood.

and does anybody remember the corruptor & replacement killers ?

i know. boring.

and it would seem that asian women as a whole and white women in particular aren't ready for the truth concerning marrying a sincere asian male.

you either want a martial or a sexual or a submissive stereotype.

what do keanu, tiger, jake e lee and the rock have in common ? asia as root and foundation.

but let me guess who everybody wishes to marry.

too many tera patricks and leannie lei and not enough lucy ling.

a sincere jade warrior princess asiatic queen is what a true man needs. not a baboi who eats too much baboi and wishes for no more than a boy toy.

but i don't wish to intrude on nobody's pimper's paradise.

cuz the only asian women of virtue i've met scorn at porn and are master teachers and healers.

ano ang hiya
