that reminded me of something,

Harry Kim has got to be one of the most popular characters on Star Trek Voyager, hes had many episodes that have focused on him, and he has also had hot steamy french kisses with that hot blonde women on the show as well. Harry Kim totally rocks and he is quite attractive as well. Goldsea should do an interview or post an article about him.

you tell him Hank!!

I work in a place where there are several equally ignorant people who are about as awake as "annoying dude". they are constantly saying they don't see a difference in colour, and yet, they only point out the negatives.

Asians are grossly under represented on trashy talk shows like The Jerry Springer Show and Ricky Lake. Bring 'em on.

"Very few Whites are able to rise above these limits. Most are blind to glaring problems. Most will not question why there are virtually no Asians in TV series like Charmed - whether as recurring characters or in the background - when the series supposedly takes place in San Francisco."

40 Days and 40 Nights shows a bunch of Chinese people, and there are shots of Chinatown. SF has lots of Chinese overall, but there are still pockets where you will see absolutely none.

Besides, all you people are so greedy. Be happy with what strides we have made so far. Movies do not depict the real world. That would be called a documentary - in other words, no one would watch.

The worst b***sh** i've seen is "Sex: The Annabel Chong Story" about the life of singaporean porn star Grace Quek. I saw it out of curiosity and boy, did it kill the cat.

"Most are similarly oblivious to the lack of Asians in just about *all* Hollywood movies that take place in S.F. It is as if such movies depict an "idealized" San Francisco meant for Whites only. If you doubt this, take another look at The Rock or Bedazzled or Nine Months. Where are the Asian characters or extras? These movies depict a city where Whites are the overwhelming majority. Is that congruent with reality?"

The same thing can be said about Latino representation in movies situated in Los Angeles. I swear if you just change the words San Francisco to Los Angeles and Asian to Latino you have the identical argument for us. Except Latinos always play the villains when they are shown in LA movies or are just ingored entirely. Just look at any movie or tv show that is based in LA and you will see this too. Glad Latinos are not alone, boycott, boycott, boycott... Spend the money on other types of entertainment and wait for the video to come out, as it is much cheaper. Don't support an industry that does not support you. Wait until they change their ways, you are not alone.

You know what's irritating? When actors complain about stereotypical roles or the lack of good roles and then turn around and take a perverted role offered to them. In Fargo, Steve Park played Mike Yanagita, a socially inept loner who tries to come on to a pregnant woman. It was admirable for Steve Park to receive the Anna May Wong Award for Excellence for taking a stand against racism in Hollywood, but that didn't stop him from playing a pathological Asian in Fargo.
