mixed malay&chinese guy,

don't you think that modern movies (not only bollywood) are white-washed? White-washed by feminism?I remember the older movies of Jackie Chan when there were less women on the screen.Today's men, I guess, become randy by watching normal martial arts movies because in every story nowadays there "needs to be a romance".

NdNgurl,

sorry if my answer embarasses you, I've no concrete nationality. I'm son of (non-Chinese) immigrants from mainland China.
When I could receive Zee TV for 1 1/2 y I prefered movies with actors who looked slightly Central Asian or Semitic. I'm not fan of a special actor but I think Sharad Kapoor made a cool impression in the movie "Dastak". (Maybe it was also the unusual role he played.)

"I recently saw "Not Another Teen Movie" and one of the characters is a white boy who tries to act Asian. He delibertely talks with a bad accent and in one scene he says to two Asian guys "chinks in the house!!" then gets kicked in the face by one of them. Did anyone find this character offending?"

They are making fun of the charcter "Kenny" from "Can't Hardly Wait." He and his buddies were "Wiggers"--White guys who talk black and try to act ghetto. Kenny tried talking that way to some black guys at the party and nearly got his ass kicked there as well.

The fact that he got kicked in the face showed that he was offensive to the Asians there and that he got what he had coming to him. So no, I don't take offense. I'd take offense if they acted like he was a friend and gave him high fives.

NdNgurl,

I'm not Indian. I began to notice Bollywood movies when I saw that they were relatively exotic, at least in the early 1990s. Especially the strange atmosphere of the evil guys in "Auzaar" and "Dastak". You don't see that in Western cinema.

JTHM,

(referring to "scorpion king") it can be that I didn't use the word "proto-type" adequately. Although it is not yet genetically proved I think that Egyptians haven't developed that much from the ancestor that they have in common with Asians and whites. Thus Egyptians may be genetically closer to Asians than whites.
However, this connection should be no reason to mix wildly Asian stuff with African stuff and white stuff in a movie
like in "Blade" with Wesley Snipes.
