Pure Asian-To be regarded as "mixed"is not acceptable for I am not confused."Complex"would be a more appropriate term but since neither word is correct for describing a human being and you insist on being so technical,I would prefer multi-racial.Though I am primarily Black and Chinese ,I am also of another racial background so bi-racial would not be correct either.I don't care what Webster says,if I'm comfortable with the the term "Blasian",you shouldn't have a problem with it either. It's not derogatory since it's not a "word" unlike mixed which means 'to blend' but it also means 'confused'in Webster's dictionary. That's no better than the n-word.Why should I have to even consider myself to be anything with the word 'racial' behind it like I'm some kind of generic human being? My mother is Black, and my father is Asian. In my dictionary, I am just as much Blasian as you are Asian.

Pure Asian,
Maybe the term "Blasian" should become recognized in Webster's dictionary.
The term "mixed" is grossly insufficient to identify people who are 1/2 Black and 1/2 Asian, since that label can be used for so many other racial/ethnic mixes- eg. 1/2 Japanese and 1/2 Korean, 1/2 British and 1/2 Chinese, 1/2 African American and 1/2 White American, 1/2 Hawaiian and 1/2 Portuguese, etc. etc. etc. etc.
Get my drift!?

"Blasian"-
Eurasian is actually a word that is recognized in Webster's dictionary. "Blasian" is a made-up, cutsy word. I think you would be more appropriately regarded as "mixed."

To Happy Clam,
You have to understand that many of the posting here are probably done by people who have been here for quite some time, and they've probably seen your topic come through many times before. Unless you have a situation that is strikingly different & interesting, or you just flat out say something stupid enough to gain attention, you probably won't see many, if any, replies to your posts. But don't give up hope, just check back from time to time.

Another Actor -
I am not going to have a monologue..... Which is what I would have to simply start posting various thoughts and concepts as though this is my journal.
I am simply stating that the postings predominantly veer towards issues involving movie stars more than anything, and I had expected it to be a little more topic oriented.
I think the fact that I have stated my situation as a white woman , married to an Asian male , with a child, opens the door to anyone either in a similiar situation or curious about my situation. So perhaps someone will respond to me..and voila! A dialogue.
I am here to actually converse and learn, not to snip at people. I would appreciate the same from you.
