I'm a white woman married to a Chinese man, and we don't have a child yet but are seriously thinking about having one soon. I'd love to "dialogue" with you, but don't know that I have much personal experience to offer yet. I have read some of your postings on the AM/WF forum and really like what you have to say. I especially liked your post about many WF following media fads and responded to it, but don't think you've been on that board lately.

(I'm "Southern White Girl" on the AM/WF forum, but I'm getting tired of typing this name since I haven't even lived in the south in several years--though I am moving to NC and am a bit nervous about it--, and am from VA anyway which isn't really the deep south...so for lack of creativity at the momment I guess I'll call myself VA Girl.)

So, how old is your son? Are you planning to teach him Chinese? Did your husband grow up in the US or China? Have you faced any difficulties raising your son? Are the people where you live diverse and/or open-minded? Any advice for those who may be parents one day soon?

Webster's Dictionary was prepared according to the principles of Webster (a white man) and no one else. His principles are not mine so why should I care about his outdated definitions?

Who wrote Websters dictionary? lol..Do you think someone sat down and just wrote it , a collection of words and their definitons? That has me laughing too hard to type!! I wonder if there will be a sequel? How on earth does he think of so many words? And isn't it amazing how he gets them all aphabetized?
