WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
'Sup everybody??
I don't support cosmetic surgery, but I'm not totally against it either. If it makes you happy, then I say go for it.
Personally, I would never go through it. I'm only 15, still maturing, and completely happy with my looks, personality, and nationality (Korean).
I've been told I was hot by many people and that I'm not so great looking by others. Everyone has different opinions, but the only opinion that should matter to you is your own. So, have a positive opinion about yourself. If you have a high self-esteem and lots of confidence, no on can bring you down.
I'm not perfect. No one is. I have many features that I don't like and there are many times when I feel ugly or hopeless. I went through stages when I wanted to be white, black, Spanish, etc. I think every teenage girl goes through this stage. I think that people have to learn to accept themselves. If you can do that, others will accept you.
Also, I don't agree with people who say all Asian people are ugly. I think Asian people are beautiful and unique. And I'm damn proud to be Azn. Yes, I know that not all Asians are good looking, but there are also a lot of white, black, Hispanic, etc. people who are not so desirable either.
And really, looks aren't everything. Personality, style, intelligence, and talent are worth a lot too. I'd rather date a a butt-ugly guy who I can have a real conversation with than the world's most beautiful guy who couldn't mutter a single useful word.
So, if you are considering comestic surgery, please think about what you are doing. Opinions, how you feel about yourself, trends, media. They all change. Surgery is permanent. You might regret it in the future. So really, consider all the pros and cons.
Don't be ashamed to be Asian. I think that the Western world is accepting Asians more and more everyday. Look at the media and all the new Asian stars. And I can tell you that a lot of my white guy friends really like Asian girls.
So, be proud of who you are and remember that there are more important things than your physical features.
That's all I wanted to say. I hope I made someone's day.
Later all...

I've read so many of the responses & it breaks my heart to hear the "lack of acceptance" of yourself by so many of you.
I am considered Eurasian (Caucasian & Chinese). I have been told by many that I am beautiful. I guess you might say the best of both worlds. I have many of the features that many of you have described as "desirable". Large, almond shaped hazel/green eyes, high bridged narrow nose, great cheek bones, excellent light skinned & excellent complexion. I am fairly tall (5'5") & I have what is consider an excellent figure, etc. etc. etc.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!! What difference does it make?????? Because, I still have such low self-esteem!!! Yes! Believe it or not, I don't believe I'm worthwhile & that I'm loveable! Pls. believe me, I am NOT joking. Because of my bi-racal background & have been discriminated against, beaten & taunted as a child & b/c I suffer such tauma as a child (my mother left us as a child), I think that if I looked different, I wud have been loveable by my mother as well as by others thru out my life.
I have blamed my looks for my failure to be loveable.
I understand all of this on a "head level", but.............the child/teenager still suffers!! I'm still that "half-breed".
God! It still hurts today.
Anyhow, for those who think changing your looks makes you "MORE DESIRABLE"....go figure! There are so many who have what you seek & that doesn't necessarily "make you feel better".
Pls. think twice.........three times.....for what you may ask for. You just might get it & find out you still don't feel any more loved.
