Too bad about Michelle's fall on the ice. She definitely look heartbroken on the podium. Well I guess we'll be seeing her in another 4 years.

I agree with this statement. Michelle Kwan is not a sell-out.

Michelle Kwan, an attractive girl, world champion in ice skating, live in LA with large asian community, proud of her cultural heritage, shouldn't she be swarmed by eligible AMs? The fact she ended up with a white hockey player shows that AA community should take some time for introspection and instead of blaming the media and AFs selling out, maybe AMs should make some changes and adapt to the American society.

Oh hell yeah! I didn't expect much with her in that Zhang Ziyi CTHD mask, but when she took that thing off, DAAAAAMN!!! Jean Racine (USA Bobsled) is fine as hell too, but too bad she finished fourth. Tristan Gale (USA Skeleton) is cute too. She's not fine, but has that girlish charm about her. And don't forget Catriona Le May Doan (Canada Speed Skating).

Haha... she must be Toi San. Actually, your theory isn't all true. There was this pairs skating couple (not Shen and Zhao, the bronze medal winners), Zhang and Zhang, from Harbin (close to the Siberian border). To say the least, the girl was not pretty at all! She wasn't as bad as Michelle, but still not all that good. I never liked far northern or Korean girls much. I don't like their eyes. I like big, bright eyes, with double eyelids. Nina Li doesn't even look like she's from China though.

Come on, now! Despite their stuck uppedness, I know you still dig those "southern Chinese" HK girls too!

People! Why fixate so inordinately on race? It is truly frightening. Why can't you see that we are all simply HUMANS?

I view myself as a human, an American, and a person of Asian descent... in that order.

I get the feeling too many of us look at ourselves first and foremost as Asians.
Don't let WHAT you are prevent you from finding out WHO you are! You are a unique individual. Fixating on race only breeds conformity, not to mention a sick (dare I say racist) means of viewing the world.

Michelle? she's pleasant to watch. despite whatever critics we say, i doubt she's gonna give a damn anyways. I root for good athletes. i root better for good athletes who are better-looking with skills. all regardless of race. however, i must say that the tv catches my eye when i see an asian cutie-athlete than a non. anyways, who cares.

I'm a WM who Lives in Houston and have had the DISPLEASURE of meeting Ms. Lipinski in the Bank where I work. She is a freaking prima-donna who thinks her shit doesn't stink and I was frankly appalled that the judges in Nagano voted her the gold for one little twist of the ankle more that she did over Michelle Kwan's performance. WTF was up with that?

I am also appalled that the NY Times announced "US WINS THE GOLD!" in Nagano, when in fact they won the gold AND THE SILVER! It was like Michelle Kwan didn't count! At least the Houston Chronicle did say "US Wins Gold and Silver" at the time. UGH!!!

AM Truth: Not all White Texans are Rednecks and I would thank you not to use that term for all of us. (Plus, given how bitchy Tara Lipinski is, I think that even the Rednecks would take offense to you saying she was one of them! LOL!!!)
