"The LA lovers are in denial, once they come up to the Bay Area they will see a brave new world and will never want to move back."

Have never seen this, ever... When I visit Frisco it reaffirms my choice of having moved from SF to LA. You are in dreamland.

"Before I forget, people, the shortened version of our great city is SAN FRAN. NOT FRISCO. Saying frisco is a sure fire sign that one is not a Bay Area native."

Or we just call it "The City."

That's cool TSJ, THE CITY. Hey Bay Area asian transplant, care to give us just a teeny weenie bit of an example instead of just blowing hot air at us?

Look at how progressive the Bay Area is. San Francisco already has a police chief, and there are several prominent asian american city council members. Throughout the Bay Area Asian American and other minority individuals have held positions of power including Mike Honda. These people got elected by people of all races and ethnicities. Umm, how many asian americans serve on the L.A. city council? Hint, it's the same number as how many AA's have served as vice president of the U.S., LOL. Even with all the "diversity" in LA, the non white minorities STILL didn't vote for Mike Woo, instead voting for a WHITE REPUBLICAN. Freaking disgraceful.

The ethnic diversity in the Bay is truly beautiful and meaningful, you have asian and other ethnic restaurants in affluent white suburbs too, all over the Bay. I'll stress again it ain't perfect of course, but it's nirvana compared to L.A.

The Bay Area's tech industry has fallen, And it can't get it up. Layoffs, Layoffs, Layoffs how am I supposed to pay the high rent here? I need a career change and a one way ticket out of here. Really.
What's a brotha in SF supposed to do?    Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 17:25:03 (PST)
Ahhh, I love the Bay. I can't believe people whine about people dogging L.A. on the L.A. thread when they do the same here on the San Fran thread. Before I forget, people, the shortened version of our great city is SAN FRAN. NOT FRISCO. Saying frisco is a sure fire sign that one is not a Bay Area native.
It only takes a short drive away from the city to see beautiful mountains and valleys, unlike LA which is basically a mash of one city next to another. The only way you can get away from it all in LA is to go out into the desert.

The people are much friendlier and open, too, unlike LA which is full of segregationists. For those of you that disagree, then go right ahead and drive down to Compton, Newport Beach, or Boyle Heights and let us all know how friendly and open them folk are to the yellow man, LOL. I don't get that haughty and disrespectful attitude from store people in the Bay Area that I do when I was in LA. Nothing is perfect but most of the races all get along in one way or another.

The LA lovers are in denial, once they come up to the Bay Area they will see a brave new world and will never want to move back. Denial is not a river in Egypt, you know.
