WHAT YOU SAY

[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
"It seems like you are out of touch with reality or you are a white person or you are too whitewashed.

If you are asian, you are probably some kid still in high school or 1 to 2 years out of high school where you don't see and understand the real world and how if functions (cause and effect)."

No, I'm first gen ABC, speak Cantonese and Mandarin, and I've been out of college for over two years now.

"How do you know the pinoys were like "right on dude?"

I should rephrase. The Pinoys SAID, "Right on, dude!" and slapped my hand.

"When you don't fight for equality and respect, people will step all over you. It starts with little things and then progresses to more disrespect."

How is this gaining respect? All it does is perpetrate old stereotypes about Asians being whiny little b*tches who have to cry to mommy every time they don't get their way.

"My friends and I were kidding around saying how these idiots should relocate to California and join all of the other idiots out there bitten with the "Asian Justice Syndrome""

Yeah, this is another black eye for the Bay. When people think of this area, they think of hippies, wine and cheese tasting wussies, tree huggers, and people who protest just about anything under the sun.

"Here in NYC, most Asian didn't give an ass f*** about those shirts. In fact, many Asians were rushing to get their hands on some before A&F took them off from their inventory like a flawed product. Hahaha..."

Hell yeah. I heard they were going for a grip on E-Bay. They are a collectors item now.

"Imagine this happening to black people, the store would probably be looted and burned already. That's why they don't f*** with black americans, cause they know the repercussions."

There are a lot of shirts featuring black caricatures, albeit, created by black people themselves. However, I see more whites than blacks wearing it.

To: The Bay needs to rid the homeless,

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'll say it anyway. YOU ARE A MORON!
Get real! Your logic and solutions stink.    Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 07:20:55 (PDT)
That is exactly why Asians in NYC get dissed, constantly. You're part of the problem. Are you reading the paper lately in NYC? Violent crimes are up against Asians, and violent sexual crimes against Asian women are up, and general, overall anti-Asian feelings are up in NYC. Are you sure you are an Asian who are in tune with Asian issues in NYC? Respect is hard to come by... Try earning it instead of dissing it. You wish you were out here in the west coast.

"Besides this, some Asians find it offensive when Non-Asians wear Asian syle blouses or fashions with Asian designs or when they get tatoos with Chinese characters. They think it's an exploitation of our culture! How foolish! So I guess when Asians wear Banana Republic or Gap, it's an exploitation of White Preppiness by Asians! Hahaha..."

Actually, no, because it wasn't us asians that appropriated the styles of Banana. On the other hand, Asian-ness did not become trendy until white people made it so. keep laughing, the foolish one is you. =)
