Hello all. I'm a 20 year old college senior. I'm African American and my boyfriend since high school is Vietnamese. For the years that I've been with him, I've discovered some great things about him. He's extremely intelligent and he can have me cracking up at the drop of a hat. He's tall, cut, with nice hands, bedroom eyes, and gorgeous lips. AAAhhh...he's just oh so sexy. I love him to death. He's very caring, respectful and loyal. I especially appreciate his honesty about all subjects. He's a go-getter and goal-oriented. All in all, he's a great lover. I know his family and friends in the US and in Vietnam and they're nothing like what you have described Vixen. So, um, what are you talking about? You can't make a generalization just based on what you've seen or heard. You must not live in a very good neighborhood or go to very good schools if that is what you are seeing and hearing around you. You need to start hanging out with a higher class of people, go to the good Universities and get a job at high tech companies where they work at...I guarantee you will see high quality Vietnamese guys, none of whom are gangsters (they are generally very well brought up and incredibly intelligent, not to mention the fact that there are so many very good-looking classy ones that are probably above your reach).

In fact, you are posting on a board that's supposed to point out the best kept secrets about Asian American men...well, from one female to another, I think you're missing the boat. One of the best kept secrets is that Vietnamese men make incredible lovers and intensely loyal friends--if your type can even get their attention at all. But with the kind of bad-ass attitude you're expressing, I seriously doubt that you could attract any kind of quality men, let alone Vietnamese men. And there are short and tall and medium sized Vietnamese men, just like any other nationality and race, so don't lump everyone into your narrow view of the world. Open your eyes and look around, get a little less ignorant and more tolerant or you'll go through life with a teeny weeny head with vacuous empty thoughts spinning through them. Very unattractive. And don't worry about the imagined threat that you feel Vietnamese guys are to you (gangsters, indeed!). They won't even touch you.

Oh, and btw, when you're voicing an opinion...please speak for yourself and not on behalf of all Asian people. I, for one, don't feel the same way you do, so I don't know where you get your "...we all know" and "Viets don't have a good repution among Asian Americans". I am an Asian American, and they have a very good reputation with me and all my friends.
