xrossed id in NYC,
Not trying to incriminate any future leaders. But when I was in college, kids experimented with pot, did not have "the will, the ambition, the attitude" sucked out of them. I'll remember to convey that Pres. Clinton the next time I see him. He could have been the emperor of the world instead of a lowly Pres.
Those that were lacking in those area were that way prior to trying pot.
Those that did have will, ambition, and a healthy attitude. Also retained those attribute after trying pot.
There are incidents where pot is a turning point in someone's life. But those are rare. They are as frequent as alcohol being a turning point in someones life.

AC,
"pot" will reduce one's desire to achieve success”
From my personal observations, regular use of even “enlightening” drugs leads to a huge reduction in the ABILITY to succeed…it saps the will, the ambition, the attitude.
Some people have no choice in their profession and are limited by education, attitude or by circumstnaces and I agree with your point. Hard work in itself is limiting without education.
What I really want to say is that a REAL education must include the work ethic because just being smart without the desire to achieve to the level commensurate with one’s smartness, leads one to be…a dropout? ;-)

"3) Let's not confuse smarts with education. Being smart is not educated. The live in maid is not working, only living."
Education in the USA does not mean recieving moral work ethics is what your are trying to say. No where in my acedemic career did someone say the active ingediant in the laymen narcartic "pot" will reduce one's desire to achieve success.
As for you attitude towards domestic help, I would advise you to change them if you wish to keep loyal and helpful people around you in the future. I'm forever in dept to people who help keep my household running smoothly. You might consider the task menial and look down upon for making it their profession. But people like me are fovever indepted to their service and loyalty.

1) I wont debate your good taste with mine - it's the only time these teenagers will wear something other than the baggy-ankle pants.
3) Let's not confuse smarts with education. Being smart is not educated. The live in maid is not working, only living.

xrossed id in NYC,
1) There was a tall dorky adult asian Eagle scout trying to keep all the minor scouts to intimidate all the shoppers into donating food. I'm sorry there is no way to look fashionable in a boy scout uniform.
3) Education can also lead to a lack of work ethics. Education and work ethics are independent factors.
Examples: The PHD in English that keeps putting off the next great American novel, to smoke pot. The grade school drop out who is a live in maid 6 days a week.
