WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
AC Dropout,
My original response was to disprove another’s assertions that, China is the ONLY nation that respect women, the fear instilling Chinese soldier was being a “man”, and something else I don't remember.
Now, it seems to me that you are creating arguments from where there are no arguments. You disregard the points being made and argue on points where you falsely believe some implications are by taking my statements out of context. NOWHERE did I write that China was the only country with slave trade and worldwide prostitution, and I did agree with you that "All countries have prostitution issues...".
You are right. The “parameters” that prove “respect for women” are various and soft at best. However it only requires one negative (false) to disprove a positive (true). I decided to choose the prostitution as the one (it seemed easiest). It’s apparent that you did not like the fact that I chose this particular “parameter”. It really doesn't matter if others have the same negative.
As for your personal insult, as a son of a former UN official, I have traveled many parts of the world and have wonderful (well, OK, some not so wonderful) experiences with many locals of various nations. I still enjoy traveling (business and pleasure) and yes, sometimes I use tour guides especially when time is limited. Are my views “skewed”? Probably on some, but I like to think no more than anyone else overall, and depending who defines the norm.
You say you have “experienced” the justice system in China. What does that mean? If you really did, does that equal to overall description of how Chinese government work? I had a nice spaghetti lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean at Naples, Italy. It doesn’t necessarily mean I have tasted the cuisine representative of Italy.
Now, on your argument using bribery and lawyers. Granted, there are corruptions everywhere. However, it seems, at least to me, that personal corruptions are very different from systematic denial of individual rights by the government. You are right, China is not the U.S., and China has it’s own governmental system and philosophy. If you equate the consequences of wrongful accusation in China and US, that is your opinion. I MUCH rather take my chances here in the US, even with potential corrupt individuals, that’s my opinion.

World Traveler,
"Existence of Chinese prostitutes all over the world is a fact"
Chinese are the most populace ethnicity on the planet. There exist Chinese teachers, policeman, entrepruers, actors, christain, muslim, buddist etc. all over the planet. Some of them women.
Your view of Chinese people and the respect of women is just skewd, if you just looking at it from a prostitution point of view. From your parameter no country on this planet respects women, because they all got prostitutes in them.
That would be like saying everytime I bump into an American expat female escort or prostitute in Japan, China, Taiwna or Korea. Well I guess Americans don't respect their women either.
I don't know what else you wrote....but My Goodness, now your attacking China justice system. First off do you have experience with the justice system in the USA or China. I do. All representative of the governement have on characteristic, they can take away civil liberty. American cop, Chinese cop all the same. You do something precieved as wrong you are arrested. Both systems are greased by money. USA I hire the most expensive lawyer, and make donations to the judge and I'm pretty much okay. China I get a lawyer and bribe the local authorities and I'm okay also. You make it sound like China some backwater place when it comes to their court system. No it is not USA, it is China.
Do you travel in a tour group of something. Nothing you wrote sounds like you actually walk 10 feet by yourself in the foriegn countries you visited.
