I recommend next time a non-Asian compliments your English or asks you where you are from do the same to them and see what kind of response you get.

My friend tried that with an African American and nearly got into a fight. I tried it with a Jewish person and he started cursing me out.

There is a double standard.

How can you be a certain percentage of an American? So if you like chinese pop culture and date only asians, are you like 78% American? Or like 58%?

But having said that, I also have to agree with Why, please tell me why?

I'm so yellow-washed, I get upset when non-Asians think I'm not Asian! If that's not screwy, I don't know what is. But I can't help myself. I am Asian, and if it won't show, then I'll wear a button that says Asian Chick on the Prowl! (or something goofy like that), but I'm not going to pass as anything other than Asian.

Hann...I really think it when i say that i do not care...

You know...those people that really care about whether or not they are seen as 100% Americans are the ones that are not so proud of anywhere else but America.

I am Chinese...my country faces alot of problems and they frustrate me...but i can still sincerely say that I really like being Chinese...

and i think it has to do with me liking mostly asian guys... so... being asian myself...i will be even more attractive to asian guys...

that's just one aspect of why i don't want to be 100% American...

i want to be Chinese American...cuz it's more unique...
also chinese pop culture...it one of the greatest in the world...

its because we're human. we will always care about what others say or think about us. there are those who say they don't care, but only a handful of them actually means it. the rest of them get ticked off, but holds it in.

I get so annoyed when American born Asians complain about people asking them where they are from or complimenting their English.
I mean...come on...what a joke..
It is not that big of a deal.
When people ask me where I am from...they are usually very sincere and I always say CHINESE even though I suppose I am Chinese American...!
