Sony has some kind of broom up its butt sometimes, but I have to admit I like their consumer electronics the best, so vote for my love and affection for them... with a few exceptions.

1) their compact Hi-8 / miniDV cameras have very bad ergonomics for video cameras... notable example = zoom control as a left/right rocker instead of a forward/back rocker. DUuuhh?!

2) irritating habit of including a very nice feature on one unit.. but on another unit (that might be even more expensive) that very nice feature is not there, possibly replaced with an OK feature that would have gone better together with the nice feature on the other unit. As a result, both units come out as "average" - of course, to be fair, Sony's not the only company that does this.
3) Their unexpandable VAIO computers. On the one hand, nice features. On the other, about as upgradeable as your microwave is. See #2. LOL

my best toys are my new digital camera (sony p-71) and minidisc player (sony MZN-N1)....both hook up to my (company) laptop and are perfect for life on the road

My PC doubles as a Home entertainment centre, as with all PCs these days.

Even HECs are becomings mini PCs with internet capabilities and email available on TV sets and such.

As for geeks, here in d UK you are privliged (though most ppl have nowadays) to own a games machine. In d UK ppl aren't seen as geeks. Its actually seen as cool to have games systems and stuff.
I thought it was all BS that these little things make ppl geeks in d US.
I'm surprised, and frankly if i was brought up in d US being me, i think i might have killed myself or better yet killed an entire school due to such bullying.

Lucky i dnt give a s#!t about wot ppl say bout me and i can just say i'll simply ignore them.

why is it that people are seen as geeks if they play the playstation or nintendo. I play playstation and nintendo, but i also play basketball for my highschool and other sports, im atheletic aswell and my personality certainly isnt one of nerds. But if you mention that you play the play station to anybody they all of a sudden look at you as a geek. By the way does anyone know of any good rpg's that have recentely been realeased on Playstation1.

I'm totally into putting my life into my Palm. What a sick obsession. They should come up with something to do it automatically for you.

My PC isn't really a toy, more like a curse. I spend way too much time on it just trying to get it to work. I'd rather spend the time on my B&O but it just doesn't take that much of my time.
