I'm a size 9/10 and I can wear sizes from a 7/8 up to a size 12. It does depend on the make of the clothes; however I don't think I've ever seen a size 10 that fell off of me like a 14 would. But I will say this, a womans size 14 will be much larger than a misses size 14, and will also be comparable to a misses size 16. Let's not even discuss the Jr's sizes....short waist and no hips. I'm a white female, and some might say I'm fat because my sizes are larger then....say.....Asian Dominatrix, but I'm not fat, just a larger breed. No use to get upset about it, because that's just the way it is. In the end, kindness and compassion are what counts, so why should anyone want to make another feel bad about themselves because they are too short, skinny, fat, or whatever. Live and let live and enjoy people for who they are along the way.

FOP,
Forgot to add, sizes can sometimes vary by quite a bit. A size 10 is not always a size 10. Designers designing for big, fat, rich, middle-aged ladies tend to inflate their sizes in order to accommodate their large egos: in other words, a Calvin Klein 10 may be more like a 14 by less well-known designers so the customer may feel younger and slimmer.
I wish women's sizes were more standardized like men's with accurate chest and waist measurements. Why should one hide one's measurements? I'm not perfect but I can see nothing wrong in asking for a 32" bust and 22" waist. Or anything else.

to fop : depends on the bone structure of the woman. i'm 5'6 small structure, weigh 135 and i dont look skinny and dont look fat, just perfect for my size (probably cuz i strength train 5 times more than the skinny ones) ...i have a friend who's exactly my size (9-10) yet she is 1 or two inches shorter .she has a medium structure but she looks skinnier than me n worksout less .its hard to tell ....my sister is exactly the same height as me , ten pounds lighter yet since i have more muscles i am usually smaller than her in jeans (woo hoo)

FOP,
I also remember Americans having a real cow about the thin Japanese guy beating them at the hotdog race. You can tell how xenophobic Americans were when they went so far as to recruit blacks and whites from abroad to beat the guy. (BTW, when is the last time he was beaten?)
As for the weight of a woman if she wears a size 10: it depends on her height. For someone about my height, 5'5", she would probably have to be about 130-140. (I weigh 110, so I wear a 2 or a 4 on a bloated day.)
Unfortunately, women's metabolism is not quite as good as men's, so no more all-you-can-eat-buffet's on a weekly basis for me...(but you can keep the steaks on the grill!)

Ladies: More power to you for accepting your bodies, loving them, and realizing that you ONLY GET ONE in life and you're stuck with it, so you might as well love it! If you are not your ideal weight--too thin or too fat to fit some narrow and frankly unhealthy cultural ideal--WHO CARES? I mean, seriously, WHO THE F**K CARES? Having a "perfect" body won't make you happy, popular, or rich. I am a proud feminist and I say this: ever wonder why we women obsess about our bodies and weight so much? Perhaps men want to keep us focused on OURSELVES so that we don't look around and realize that we are 52% of the population and are underrepresented in government!!

Asian Dominatrix,
You're right on the money about the metabolism. The thin Japanese guy beat all the fat white Americans in that hotdog eating contest. Quite amazing.
Also, how much does a woman usually weigh if she wears size 10?
