WHAT YOU SAY

to PHREAKNIK!

"...i go out 2 the kickinest clubs all the time in la and vegas and pick up the hottest chix all the time who want whats in my wallet and my drawers (not desk drawers)"

Hahahaha! The girls who are after your wallet and what's in your drawers are definitely the LAST folks on earth who could possibly induce you to write like a lawyer. Now, I know for a FACT what it takes to become a lawyer...plenty (too damn much) of reading and writing...and plenty of exercising with the logic of things and how to use (twist if you must) someone's words against (or for) them. Not that I'm a lawyer, mind you (I got mindblowingly bored by the second year...so I guess you can call me a law-school-drop-out). Anyhoo, the way you write just doesn't reflect the mentality or logical directions that a lawyer's mind works. Try writing in standard English with good (or at least passable) grammar and let me see if your brains are as big as your drawers.

"I think that the influx of AFs into America has really made the anorexia problem worse. WFs of normal healthy weight look at AFs who weigh absurdly low numbers like 105 and try to emulate them when it's impossible without starving."

WF,

I'm not sure where to start, but let's just begin with the simple things. First of all, I did not say that someone at 5'4" HAD to weigh 105; yes, it looks good--to me--I want to emphasise, but it does depend on your build, as I said in an earlier post:

"Some women at 5'4" and 105 look good--Zhang Ziyi, for instance--because they have tiny bones. Or maybe are still growing. If you're large boned, then 115 might be more of an optimum.
Asian Dominatrix Thursday, March 28, 2002 at 09:51:04 (PST)

Since I'm not an M.D., I only took a wild guess at 115. I don't mind if you disagree with me about weight, because let's face it, we all have different ideals and different limits. At 5'5", 110 (or more on those days of the month), and 29, I know that as much as I might want to be 5'9" and 125, it AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN because I'm past my growing years. (And I no longer have the teeny tiny bones I had when I was 17 and weighing in at 98.) Everyone has to make do with limits. There are a lot of Asian women who will never look like the top Asian models/stars--just like there are lots of white women who will never look like Gwyneth Paltrow, Christy Turlington, etc. Let's just be proud and happy with what we've got--altho' we have every right to defend ourselves when attacked over the internet! If you want to say that 5'4" and 125 is the best, there's no one holding you back from saying it.

I am a little more bothered tho' about your blaming Asian women for anorexia. To me, it sounded a bit like those guys who beat up Vincent Chin, saying "It's because of you motherfu--ers that we're out of work."

Hmmm...let's see, how many skinny Asian stars/supermodels are there? Last I looked, Calista Frockheart is white, Kate Moss is white, so's Kate Beckinsale, Erin O'Connor, Gisele Bundchen, etc. etc. If you want to blame anyone, blame the fashion industry and MEDIA. Blame the folks at a magazine (Vogue?) who decided to pull the cover of Renee Zellweger because they thought she looked "too fat" and replaced it with one of the 6'0 120lb. Erin (I think). And the editor who pulled it was herself 5'9" and 150. Not exactly thin.*

Many Asian women just happen to be built smaller. Not all. It also just happens that the extreme ectomorphic look is in at the moment, and that a number of Asians--not all--have that look. If we were living in the days of Marilyn Monroe, it might be a different story all together. Even when I was growing up in the '80s, the big look was the Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell look--muscles and curves. And tall. I knew I could never look like that, altho' I have to admit, it didn't bother me at all because I was quite proud of being thin.

But supposing I wanted to look all tall, muscly, and curvy: would it be right for me to blame blacks and whites? NO! And supposing I don't like the whole emphasis on blond hair, red hair, green eyes, etc., would it be right to blame white women who happen to have these features? Again, NO! A lot of whites can't help being born with different color hair just like a lot of Asians can't help being born with slimmer builds. We're all going to have different ways of "conforming" to the media's standards of beauty.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the media, fashion industry, Madison Avenue, and Hollywood. Blame them for privileging skinny chicks. Or predominantly tall chicks. Or white chicks. (Yes, we Asians--and other ethnic minorities--have a bone to pick with them too because we are hardly ever represented in fashion magazines or featured on covers.) If you feel strongly about the excessive adulation of the tall and skinny, you should write to these magazines and say that you are tired of seeing only 1% of women represented.

But in the end, you just have to ignore the media and not let their standards get to you. Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Heather Locklear, Jennifer Aniston--and there are a lot of others--don't conform EXACTLY to supermodel standards (shortish and not sticklike), but they've done very well for themselves in the entertainment business, thank you very much.

I like women with curves and meat. Btwn 5'7" & 130# & 5'9" 140# is ideal for me.

To Asian "Dominatrix", your response to "Fat Cow" was just sarcastic and mean. I mean a few weeks ago on this same board you were saying how wonderfully thin you were, how disgustingly fat white women are, how thin your waist is, etc, and now you're telling this girl to be fat and enjoy it? I would guess that most people that are overweight are really unhappy about it and feel excluded from society.

Asian Dominatrix,

Life is definitely filled with a kaleidoscope of personality. A muse is what you insinuate a narcissist to? Interesting.

However, the problem of "flauting stuff" as you put it is that the "stuff" are socially subjective. Isn't that damaging to those that think they are "out" here but may be "in" elsewhere?
AC Dropout    Tuesday, April 02, 2002 at 10:29:38 (PST)
Asian "Dom"- I am 5'4 WF and even when I was 115 I was still medically anorexic, I was starving and exercised every day for 2 hrs, I was sick. Maybe it's normal for Zhang to be 105 but I look at her and wonder if she eats. 115 for my height is not normal!! I think that the influx of AFs into America has really made the anorexia problem worse. WFs of normal healthy weight look at AFs who weigh absurdly low numbers like 105 and try to emulate them when it's impossible without starving. And don't you dare call us fat.
WF    Tuesday, April 02, 2002 at 07:00:22 (PST)
Fat cow,

Here's what you do:

1. Cook. Gain more weight. Become truly fat at 150.

2. Cook some more. Keep eating.

3. Hit 250 and break the scale!

4. Go out and promote your culinary skills like those 2 British chefs--2fatladies. Indeed, bill yourself as 2fatladies rolled into 1. Or the Spice Girls song, 2 become 1.

5. Because there's only one of you, hopefully someone will mess up and pay you double!

6. And even if they don't, you'll still become disgustingly rich and famous.

7. You'll be laughing all the way to the bank, shakin' yo' fat ass, saddlebags, and yes--yo' moneybags full of $$$$$$$.

8. And be very, very, happy indeed!!!

hahah!

I personally think whoever is posting those Phreaknik bits is pretending to be dumb. Because no one is that dumb!

But I did like the bit about the "desk drawers." Maybe there's hope.

AC Dropout,

I think we narcissists are a necessary part of life...it's people with our HUGE egos who enjoy entertaining others. Even if we're "lil' puny dumb broad asses" (or is it "dumbass broad?")as Phreaknik so *eloquently* puts it. While other somber folks ponder the weightier issues in life--yes, this is on *weight* after all--we narcissists can strut about merrily, flaunting our stuff.

But whether intentionally or unintentionally, I'll leave it up to you...HAHAHAHA!
Asian Dominatrix    Monday, April 01, 2002 at 12:51:17 (PST)
Thank you Phreaknik for saying what I"m sure many of us on this site are thinking- we're SO sick of Asian Dom and her rants and raves, "witty" put-downs and assertions of her superiority in every facet of life.
thanks    Monday, April 01, 2002 at 11:47:02 (PST)
