WHAT YOU SAY

Oh and by the way, under "The Ideal Asian Woman", when men were asked to rate the size of their ideal woman, only 1% preferred waiflike. So it's obvious men don't like waifs.

"Pretty arrogant of you to just assume "Oh everyone's jealous."

Oh but they ARE jealous. I always thought that it was due to my being asian. My behavior is always above reproach, so what else could it be? The jealous stares and comments. Especially coming from females. Some strangers, some not. I'm not arrogant. I'm realistic.

If people do look like concentration camp victims to you, why the need to put them down? Jealousy. To deny it, is lying. Why do you check out thin people anyway? Concentrate on the heavier ones, so you'll feel more self-confident.

Did the term, "waif" bother you? Is that why you singled me out? Or is it because what I said applied to you?

It's funny to see people constantly seeking reassurances about their weight. To untrained eyes, the ultra-slim asian must be a jolt to their self-esteem or something. They'll always be people who are envious of others who are slimmer than they are. That is the truth. It's so sad.

Maybe some guys are attracted to stick thin girls but I can't imagine why. Saw an Asian girl today that was SO GODDAMN skinny, her thighs couldn't have been more than 10 inches around. She looked like a victim of a concentration camp. Is that supposed to be attractive? Most guys I know like women that are thin but have womanly curves, not girls that are all bones. waif floating by, I'm glad I'm not so skinny that people on the street comment on it. Pretty arrogant of you to just assume "Oh everyone's jealous".

I wear sizes from 0, 1, and 2 and never above a 2. Strangers always think it's acceptable to comment on my weight. Geez, are they my doctor or what? It's a private matter but since looks can't be hidden, it's always brought up. Is that rude or what? Most of the time it's jealousy. Actually, I found that they are racist because they use weight as an excuse to give asian people a hard time.

SKINNY GIRLS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!
“you know when you start getting that ally mcbeal body, you’re overdoing it! yuck!”

i don’t get it. why do people think its okay to put down skinny girls? people are always saying to me, “you are SO skinny.” no s***! i think i know that. i mean, if i were fat, i don’t think anyone would come up to me and say, “you are SO fat!” skinny girls are self-conscious too, ya know. calista flockhart does not starve herself. she was just built that way.

Everything is changing so quickly. I am a teenager in the US and I know that it is way more appealing to be skinny than fat. When people say "Oh it's good to have a little meat." I don't believe them one bit. I know they don't have the confidence to actually say "I'm happy with myself." They're lying. And for all the people that are Anorexic and that kind of stuff, when they're finally happy, they're probably dead. As for me, I know I'm not happy even though I'm still alive. I mean 5'2 and 100 pounds isn't bad or that great but that's just the way it is. I don't like it but I'm willing to live with it.

By the way girls, I've heard many a comment from an AM that they would love for AFs to start drinking more milk to become more developed, so curves are not bad.

I've got a big bootie, and my AM loooooves it. :)

Be unafraid to show off your curves.

Susie Michelle:

Western sizes have been changing to appeal to the woman consumers who buy their clothes. In a competition to win women over, clothes manufacturers have slowly lowered their sizes while keeping the actual measurements of the clothes the same.

Why, you ask? It's fairly simple. To all you women out there...suppose there were two equally cute shirts from two different stores (forgetting labels and all that, please,) where in one store you fit a size 6 and at another you fit into a size 2. Which would you choose?

Size 2. Let's face it. In society today, women get a high off of fitting into "smaller" sized clothes. I mean wouldn't you rather tell people that you were a size 2 instead of a size 6? For me, I range in size from 2 to 8. I rarely buy something because of the size, but that doesn't stop me from getting a little happy when I buy the size 2.

So the size difference isn't because Asian standards are getting out of whack. It's because western standards are lowering their sizing labels to compete for those consumers obsessed with size.

T'K Chang,

"For women, it's ALWAYS better to be underweight than overweight(for the same amounts of weight)."

Always better to be UNDERWEIGHT???

Man...you must be attracted to "waiflike" girls or girls with Anorexia disorder.

Don't TELL me you DON'T like women with a curvy and shapely Betty Boob body type.
Betty Boob body type is not underweight you know. She has some extra weight here and there in the right place. Does her body type looks bad to you? not appealing?. I don't believe it if you say not appealing. :(

"Overweight asians are not appealing."

Overweight people of ALL races are NOT appealing. PERIOD.

For women, it's ALWAYS better to be underweight than overweight (for the same amounts of weight.) Everything else people tell women is just a politically correct LIE.

I live in California and it kinda funny when I happened to go to a grocery store and looked around the parking lot; there are couple of Asian slim, tiny body girls driving huge SUVs like the Toyota Landcruisers, Acura MDXs etc... and next to those girls are several over weighed White, Hispanic ladies driving little Honda civics. I also noticed those over weighed stared at those petite Asian girls.

Super Toned Asian Chick,

THat's an interesting observation. I'm 5'8" and a guy. My legs are very powerful and muscular so even though I am short I can dunk a basketball on a 10 foot hoop. However my upper body is nothing to brag about. I've been working hard to build that up, but the results haven't been as spectacular as I had hoped. I've also noticed that a lot of Asian atheletes have highly developed lower bodies but slim upper bodies. I wonder why that is...
Interesting.    Friday, August 30, 2002 at 20:39:19 (PDT)
I noticed something about the Japanese and Chinese Americans (who are mostly Cantonese originated):

the 2nd and 3rd generations do grow much taller. But, they also get fatter than their parents. Some can be grotesquely fat. Why is this?
fat ain't good    Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 00:27:54 (PDT)
Susie Michelle,
At 5'7"/125, that sounds a lot like the ideal kind of woman. That seems to be the norm in Ms Universe and all other beauty pagents and also Playboy mags. I wouldn't sweat it if I were you.
I know Shanghai babes. I had a Shanghai gf that was exactly your size and cup also. She was a real looker and a great catch. Her only problem seemed to be other girls 'hating' on her because of jealosy or envy.
Cow Guy    Monday, August 26, 2002 at 18:09:30 (PDT)
Truth be told, fat doesn't always equal unattractive. All depends on the genes...I've seen some horrendous looking skinny girls in my day, and some fine larger girls on the other side of the coin...just depends on the looks sometimes, period.
T.B.    Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 15:02:34 (PDT)
Wondering,

It's ALL natural. I'm a Korean guy that has lived in HK for 10 years (now in the US), and the MEN there are skinny too. For chrissakes, the guys in HK can fit into jeans that women in the US DREAM of sliding into without the help of vaseline (hehe, jk about that part). They are just slim. Keep in mind that most guys just dont have the incentive to stay slim. In fact, I think most men, where ever they are from, would want to be bigger, wouldn't they? So therefore I think that these women aren't necessarily starving themselves. Keep in mind that the serving portions in homes and restaurants are much much smaller here. Even in Italy where I was last month, people were slimmer than Americans, and they had small servings. I had to eat 2 entrees in the restaurants.

Don't think from an American viewpoint. You need to understand it from the other way round. I dont think Hongers are starving themselves. Americans are fat. AAs are getting fat too. Yes, even you, SusieMichelle. You may be considered slim in the US at 125 and 5'7", but I've seen women in Asia that were 5'10" that weighed as much as you do. I'm not calling any of you ladies fat. But just know that Asians in Asia just eat differently, and are thus thinner. Can't you accept that?
Its just the way it is.    Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 02:59:19 (PDT)
I agree with Dan.

With 100% Asian diets of mostly rice, vegetables, and some fish/pork/beef/ chicken/seafood ONLY t supplement (instead of it being the main food, like a plate of steak and taters, for example), it is not that hard to remain trim. The reason why AA women are bigger (or "fatter" in Asia) is because they eat more Western food which is fattening.
Its simple    Saturday, August 24, 2002 at 02:48:13 (PDT)
My boyfriend tells me that i have the typical Asian body cuz my legs are "disporportionate" to the rest of my body. In other wordss, bigger. Cuz I am really musclar down there but super skinny everwhere else. I always thought it was cuz I danced and play sprots, but now im not sure cuz my mom is the same way and she dont do any sports or nothing.
