All stereotypes are flawed. Stereotyping any group- especially with the intent for romantic involvement - will always lead to unrealistic expectations and inevitably failure of the relationship. Know the person as an individual. And anyway- who are Asian women? Every culture has unique differences - to catagorize them together under "Asian" insults the Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, et. al.

While I find your comments to be a bit too generalized, your points are absolutely correct. 1) HK people think they're better than any other Chinese, 2) Asian girls in Vancouver will throw themselves at any white guy, and 3) the arrogance of these HK guys will drive even more Asian girls towards white guys.

I am a 20-year old AF who is also a UBC student and, interestingly enough, also a prospective law student.

I agree that there has been a great influx of immigrants from Hong Kong since the mid-1990's, but I completely disagree with your statements that all the Asian women aged 18-35 are dating/or want to date white guys.

Come on, buddy! You're a UBC student, don't you see most Asians hanging out with other Asians? Just go to the SUB at 12pm or to the commerce building and you'll see what I mean. Also, what about all of the Asian clubs at UBC? If you want a "westernized banana type club", what about Chinese Varsity Club? If you go to any of the dances or the ski trips, there are 500-800 "westernized asian canadians" who show up.

Yes, there are asian girls who do prefer white guys, but isn't that a trend that occurs cross-culturally, and not just in Vancouver, Canada? I know plenty of "westernized asian canadians", men and women, our age, who PREFER to date Asians. I am one of them. And, contrary to your statement that "Asian women have this inferiority complex...and think ALL white people are incredibly beautiful", I can personally and proudly say that I do not have an inferiority complex and I find ASIAN guys to be more physically attractive than guys of any other race.

In an effort to cut down some of your qualifications about Asian women in Vancouver, let me tell you about myself: I do not have/have never had/am not looking for a white boyfriend, I speak excellent English, I do not go to clubs and wait for white guys to pick me up, and I do not have any Cantonese genes.

As an AF who lives in Vancouver, I am rather insulted by your comments, most of which are formulated based on extremely negative stereotypes and, quite obviously, YOUR bad experiences with AFs in Vancouver. You are entitled to your own opinions, but please do not make gross generalizations based upon your own experiences. You are only deceiving yourself and losing out on potentially great relationships with wonderful Asian Females in Vancouver.

All the best in law school in the U.S., but before you leave Vancouver, I challenge you to give Asian girls here 'another chance'.

Good-bashing on HK chinese. They always think they are the better chinese. They think using these fancy cantonese terminology is very unique and special. Well tell them what, better start learning Mandarin with proper pronounciation. What's up with them on brands like CK1, Versace, Kenneth Cole, and other queer sh*t. If you don't wear what they think it's the norm, then you're not qualified to hang around with them. Another thing that cracks me up the most is that- after all these years colonizing by UK, they can't get their 24 er 25 or maybe 26 alphabets right. Out of several British colonies (India, Malaysia, Bermuda, South Africa, and etc), HK is the poorest one on English. HK-Eurasians are even worser, not even worth my time critizing.

Hey I'm from Vancouver and although i agree that there are lots of new immigrants i find your comments full of hatred and greatly exaggerated. You are making too much generalization in your biased comments... c'mon as a law school prospect you can do better than this..and it seems to me that you have no luck with chix so you are taking it out on HK people.
