Hi Asian Dom.,are there more tips you can muster regarding meeting and striking up a conversation with a woman like yourself? For example what would it take if (being total strangers)to get to 1st base with someone like yourself? Also,say I was staring at you and you caught me, would there be any signals from you that would encourage me to act? Another thing, let's assume I'm a very poor conversationalist and on top of that nervous with the whole meeting/mating dance to begin with,would you help out if I stumble (please be honest)? I can picture a scenario with the female standing there, arms folded, staring at the ceiling and getting very impatient while I grope with the lines. I'm thinking ,oh gawd, how'd I get myself into this mess, get me outta here!! It's true though, lots of times women act as though they couldn't be bothered whether or not that is true is the determining factor. I was watching Discovery Channel about mating habits of deer and the female deer feigns disinterest on the initial encounter but later on they mate. Another thing, please don't say 'be confident' because that just isn't that easy.

asian guy sometimes shyness will be mistaken for nonchalance by men.
also take into account that asian women have different standards of beauty (in their men) as compared to american women. Some women are too intimidated to look at men not to mention even smiling at them.

Asian Dominatrix, that is pretty funny on ur rules of staring. Once a guy in a car driving was staring at me while i was waiting for the bus and he hit the car in front of him. made a fool outa himself. hehehe

actually on ur third rule of staring, that reminds mme of once when i was 16 i saw this really cute tall boy with long brown hair and blue eyes and i followed him so that i might get his attention, and get a better look at him. and i sat right in front of him on the train and something good actually came out of that cuz he started talking to me. so i guess he didn't realize i followed him. btw, that was like few years ago...i would never do something like that now. what was i thinking?

Right said Hank! Actually, what was very interesting was how British newspapers and magazines whined constantly about how "American men are stealing our women." Or "more and more British women are falling for American men: why?"

Actually, this is where "stiff upper lips" would come in handy: if you ain't gonna take action, someone else will! But I guess some prefer to bitch, moan, stare like an idiot, and then bitch some more that "women don't respond because they're stuck up."

Sounds like those particular Brits were somewhat lacking in the guts department. Back when I was single, if I saw an attractive woman and we made eye contact across a room, I'd smile at her. If she smiled back, I'd approach her steadily (not gingerly like some milquetoast), look her in the eye, smile and say "Hi there! I'm Hank. What's your name?" and most of the time she'd smile, say "Hi I'm ____. Nice to meet you!" and then I'd give her a firm handshake, putting my other hand over hers. There were very few women who'd respond in an unfriendly manner to that.

If it wasn't a situation where I could do that, I would smile and nod my head then go about my business. No troubles there either.

The saddest thing I've ever seen is a couple of guys sitting by the bar staring at or staring at and following some beautiful woman, but never approaching her or approaching her with all the confidence of a twelve year old. So much for the British Stiff upper lip.

I'm not Filipino but I have to disagree with you. What you said can also describe a lot of non-flip Asians too. I've seen them on the dancefloor moving like freaks as well. The only difference is they can't dance for their lives. Most Filipinos I've met can really move. Anyway, don't generalize simply because you had a few bad experiences. Filipinos can be very open minded (because of their more Westernized culture) so keep looking. I myself am in love with a Filipina and it would kill me if she had the same negative opinions about me. Just stay away from the white worshippers (like a lot of the Japanese) and the wannabe hip-hop heads and you'll be fine.
