Indian Man Drank Wife's Blood for 3 Years

A 22-year-old woman in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh in Bhopal has accused her husband of having drank her blood for the past three years.

“He used to take a syringe and draw blood from my arms,” said Deepa Ahirwar. ”He would then empty it in a glass and drink it. For three years he did this on a regular basis, threatening me of dire consequences if I revealed this to anyone.”

Deepa was married in 2007 to Mahesh Ahirwar, a farm worker, in Shikarpura village. A few months later, Mahesh started drawing blood from his wife. He said it made him strong. He continued the practice even when his wife was pregnant. She felt drained and nauseated after each extraction, but stopped resisting after he beat her up.

Only after she gave birth to a son seven months ago did she begin protesting.

Earlier this month Deepa had run away to her parents’ house carrying the baby. After hearing her story her father, a farmer, took her to a police station in Patera to file a complaint against Mahesh.
