Annie Young-Scrivner

Chinese American Annie Young-Scrivner took another big step up in a 20-year marketing career when she was named Global Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales for the Starbucks brand on September 3.

Prior to that appointment Young-Scrivner had briefly served as Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Sales for Quaker Foods and Snacks, a division of PepsiCo. Her 19-year Pepsico career also included the position of Chairman and Region President of PepsiCo Foods for Greater China in which she oversaw the Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade brands. She led three thousand employees in increasing market share in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She cultivated a team of senior Chinese leaders in which 40% were female.

She had begun her China stint as Vice President of Sales for PepsiCo Beverages. Prior to that she served as Vice President and General Manager for the Mass Merchandise and Club Channel of business for PepsiCo US and Vice President & General Manager of the Frito-Lay Club Channel.

Young-Scrivener has been recognized for her efforts in helping women advance up management ranks. She has been Executive Sponsor for Women’s Initiative Network and was a Board Member for Network of Executive Women. She also founded an Executive Women’s Network in Shanghai. She also headed up the PepsiCo Asian Network for Chicago.

At the time of her Starbucks appointment Young Scrivner lived in Hinsdale, Illinois with husband Scott, son Sebastian and daughter Nicolette.
