Asian Pickup Artist Lands TV Dates in Chicago, Boston

A man who has won media attention for coaching Asian American men to become successful pickup artists has recently filmed a TV segment scheduled to air in Boston on Valentines Day, according to his publicist.

Jerry Tran, who prefers to be known as JT the Asian Playboy, promotes himself as the world’s best Asian pickup artist. For the past several years he has been holding “boot camps” for Asian American men looking to become more adept at picking up women in club settings. His coaching includes tips on overcoming stereotypes that hamper Asian American men in approaching women of all races. Working with a small staff of other successful PUAs (pick-up artists) Tran conducts seminars for small groups on-location at clubs and bars in cities around the U.S. and several foreign locations.

Tran was recently interviewed by Boston’s ABC afiliate WCVB TV (Channel 5) for a segment originally scheduled to air November 1. As of October 29 the air date was postponed until Valentine’s Day, presumably to make better use of the theme, according to his publicist. Tran is also scheduled to appear on Chicago Philippine TV on November 9 to discuss ways to empower Asian men and fight stereotypes.

Tran was born in Texas. While growing up in various cities in the South he suffered from discrimination, social isolation, and what he calls his “own perceived barriers to become one of the best” in the game of picking up women for casual sex. At 5-6 Tran feels he has also developed techniques to overcome a height disadvantage to make sexual connections with women through practical application of social psychology, body language and dressing style.

Tran’s website is located at www.abcsofattraction.com.
