Pacquiao's Best Fight Is Mosley in April Says Arum

Top Rank Promotions head Bob Arum had a definite agenda for Manny Pacquiao’s next fight when they met for dinner at the Shangri-La Makati Hotel in Manila Tuesday evening.

Arum presented Pacquiao with fight proposals for Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez or Andre Berto to take place on April 16 at the MGM Grand. Pacquiao had expressed the desire to return to action in May, but Arum insists April is the best month for Pacquiao’s much-anticipated return to boxing’s center stage.

Pacquiao’s likely opponent is Mosley because of his appeal as a pay-per-view attraction, according to Arum.

“Don’t forget, Mosley beat Oscar (De La Hoya) twice and had a fight with (Floyd) Mayweather,” Arum told GMA-7 News. “Mosley has been on the big stage for a long, long time and people know who he is.”

Pacquiao turns 32 on December 17. Mosley will turn 40 next September 7.
