Are AA Women the Real Victims of Prejudice?
sian women get a free ride at the expense of Asian men. That's the received wisdom here in the U.S. This belief appears premised on the suspicion that American society sees Asian women as sexy exotics in need of rescuing from the cold clutches of Asian men who don't know how to smile except evilly.
The real victim?

Credit Hollywood for its tireless casting of Asian women as sexual accessories to white heroes while suppressing the very existence of Asian men except as unsavory paper tigers. Credit too the TV networks that uncover bevies of talking Asian women but rarely their male counterparts.
In fairness this media fantasy of the Asian race was partly inspired by recent history. Devastated and impoverished Asian nations sent tens of thousands of war brides and orphans, followed by several million desperate immigrants willing to hock their identities while toiling to build new lives.
Male-dominated societies toast new women as exotic sexual prospects while suppressing new men as an exploitable lower class or even enemy aliens. The women get all the breaks and the men get all the lumps. Even worse, the women have their heads turned and adopt a scornful attitude toward their own men. So goes the complaint of some AA men.
The women have a different take. Sexual predators bearing insulting stereotypes must be fended off while coping with women who see them as unfair competitors. Add to that the pain of being scorned as sellouts by AA men for no more reason than their apparent welcome by American society. Worst of all, complain AA women, is being begrudged the right to take simple pleasure in their own identities. How much easier just to face straightforward racial prejudice!
Do Asian women really have an easier time in America? Or do they suffer from the double-whammy of insulting stereotypes from non-Asians and unfair persecution from Asian men?

I don't find AF snobby or conceited. They're usually very friendly to me. Do you think maybe it's the way you act towards them? Are you sending out unintentional or unconcuious impressions that seem offensive?
I've been with an asian man for almost a year now and I've learned alot about cultural differences. Sometimes they turn into misunderstandings. You may be misreading cues or gestures.

about anniston...what do you think "Ross" is on Friends? Schwimmer is Jewish. Did you forget the entire cast of Seinfeld? and that guy (don't remember his name) but he was opposite Helen Hunt on "Mad about you." Didn't you get it? that show was about a Jewish man very happily married to an Anglo woman!!!!! The actress who plays "Dharma" on Dharma & Greg is Jewish. Aaron Spelling's daughter. shannon Doughtery. Fran Drescher. Adam Sandler. Ben Stiller. The main character with curly hair on "Off Center." The cast of guys in "American pie." Jerry Lewis. The guy who played "Gilligan." And the list goes on and on and on. And in music too. Billy Joel, the guy band who sing "Brass money" and on and on and on..
Jewish executives own much of the media.
Of course they don't own EVERY single production company, produce *all* the movies, or own *all* the networks. NONJEW whites are the majority in this country, so of course they control some and so you see them as some of the top actors, directors, producers... So of course they dont' own *every* single show. and you pointed out some of those they don't.

you're describing what *you* see. You don't see all AF nor do you know all of us. Don't speak for us. There are arrogant and conceited people of *all* races. And in my experience, I've known way too many WFs who tell me every man wants them b/c they're white...that everyman wants them b/c they're blonde...that everyman wants them b/c they're more beautiful.

OK, I go along with what you say. However, the point I made was different. In the gilmore girls show they portray a Korean girl as dumb regarding math and science and the white girl as smart. In at least four out of five cases, in reality, in the United States, it is the other way around. However, the media cannot portray the white girl as dumb and the Korean girl as smart...why for the same reason, the Asian from Georgia gives regarding some out of the way place in Northern Georgia...the media would loose the audience.

Depends on what field of math. I would have to say that applied is dominant academically by those becoming engineers, pre-med, and science majors.
The theoretical math has people from all walks. But is mostly male dominated as you stated. Most of my theoretical math course had like 10 people in it. Hard to take a good sampling with seeing 10 people every semester.
As for doing accurate calculation. I will admit when I left college my computation skill dimished significantly. But boy could I define a mathematical space.

No, it's not to hide anything. AFs are taught early on to NOT smile at all passing strangers, to be elegant and self-possesed, and to exude quiet calm confidence, whereas WFs are taught to be outgoing, gregarious, precocious, and charming. You are seeing a classic example of two different cultures clashing at critical junctures. As a youth, if I went around and acted all bubbly and smiley at passersby on the street, I would get a good talking to by my parents, who would think I was being easy with men and was not the proper lady around other women. This is the reason why so many AMs think WFs are easy and loose, morally. I'm not saying that it's correct, I'm just saying this is how you are perceived by us, just as we are perceived to be bitchy and conceited by you.
