Are AA Women the Real Victims of Prejudice?
sian women get a free ride at the expense of Asian men. That's the received wisdom here in the U.S. This belief appears premised on the suspicion that American society sees Asian women as sexy exotics in need of rescuing from the cold clutches of Asian men who don't know how to smile except evilly.
The real victim?

Credit Hollywood for its tireless casting of Asian women as sexual accessories to white heroes while suppressing the very existence of Asian men except as unsavory paper tigers. Credit too the TV networks that uncover bevies of talking Asian women but rarely their male counterparts.
In fairness this media fantasy of the Asian race was partly inspired by recent history. Devastated and impoverished Asian nations sent tens of thousands of war brides and orphans, followed by several million desperate immigrants willing to hock their identities while toiling to build new lives.
Male-dominated societies toast new women as exotic sexual prospects while suppressing new men as an exploitable lower class or even enemy aliens. The women get all the breaks and the men get all the lumps. Even worse, the women have their heads turned and adopt a scornful attitude toward their own men. So goes the complaint of some AA men.
The women have a different take. Sexual predators bearing insulting stereotypes must be fended off while coping with women who see them as unfair competitors. Add to that the pain of being scorned as sellouts by AA men for no more reason than their apparent welcome by American society. Worst of all, complain AA women, is being begrudged the right to take simple pleasure in their own identities. How much easier just to face straightforward racial prejudice!
Do Asian women really have an easier time in America? Or do they suffer from the double-whammy of insulting stereotypes from non-Asians and unfair persecution from Asian men?

You've gone out on a limb with this one. What facts/stats/research, etc. do you have to back up this claim, if you don't mind my asking? I would appreciate the source of your "majority" info. Thanks.

YOU MUST BE KIDDING....I own a FORD EXPEDITION 2002 fully loaded with 18 inch rims. Ive been to China and Japan and Ive seen their cars. Ive seen Japanese vans that take up less than haf the 100 inch roadway. Pieces of junk THEY ARE I SAY!!!!!!
My ford expedition can run a honda, toyota or mitsubishi over and crush/kill those inside.
I have a Triton V-8 engine and the car cost me $38,000....Maximas cant OUT accellerate me AND THEY Wouldnt in fear I would run them over.

I don't see it too often, but it is a relatively common site for me. I guess seeing both ends of the spectrum together just magnified my view on it.

both your "ifs" are valid. But I can't help thinking that non-AF females have an easier time accepting AM for who they are than AF's do.

Great points there. Nice to know there are Asians out there battling their way through media!
I agree on your points about the dangers of the model minority myth. Yes, it is used as a stick to beat off blacks and at the same time a convenient buffer strategically placed between blacks and whites.
For instance, on one hand, whites will tell Asians, "stop complaining, you're not as discriminated against as blacks are." As tho' blacks deserve to be discriminated against. But the subtler danger is that by claiming that Asians are model minorities, whites are also saying rather tacitly-- "blame Asians for throwing off the curve for minorities." Kinda like when Asians throw off the curve on an exam. And all of this is like Detroit blaming Japan for ruining the US economy when American cars are really a piece of junk.
I'm rather nonchalant about interracial relationships. Look, there are more whites than Asians and if you live in an area which is predominantly white, sometimes you don't always get a choice. And that goes for Asian men AND women. If you're very happy with the one you love, why search for more?
Just don't do IR for the wrong reasons: Asian women dating white men to move up the social ladder and Asian men marrying white women to do the same perhaps professionally. If you are doing IR out of ambition, you're bound to fail at one point or another, because every little problem will later be turned upon race.
Yes, it's real love that ultimately matters.
P.S. Something I forgot to say about media. Don't forget there are still quite a few people who have not encountered Asians in real life and may depend upon media representation for "info."
