Are AA Women the Real Victims of Prejudice?
sian women get a free ride at the expense of Asian men. That's the received wisdom here in the U.S. This belief appears premised on the suspicion that American society sees Asian women as sexy exotics in need of rescuing from the cold clutches of Asian men who don't know how to smile except evilly.
The real victim?

Credit Hollywood for its tireless casting of Asian women as sexual accessories to white heroes while suppressing the very existence of Asian men except as unsavory paper tigers. Credit too the TV networks that uncover bevies of talking Asian women but rarely their male counterparts.
In fairness this media fantasy of the Asian race was partly inspired by recent history. Devastated and impoverished Asian nations sent tens of thousands of war brides and orphans, followed by several million desperate immigrants willing to hock their identities while toiling to build new lives.
Male-dominated societies toast new women as exotic sexual prospects while suppressing new men as an exploitable lower class or even enemy aliens. The women get all the breaks and the men get all the lumps. Even worse, the women have their heads turned and adopt a scornful attitude toward their own men. So goes the complaint of some AA men.
The women have a different take. Sexual predators bearing insulting stereotypes must be fended off while coping with women who see them as unfair competitors. Add to that the pain of being scorned as sellouts by AA men for no more reason than their apparent welcome by American society. Worst of all, complain AA women, is being begrudged the right to take simple pleasure in their own identities. How much easier just to face straightforward racial prejudice!
Do Asian women really have an easier time in America? Or do they suffer from the double-whammy of insulting stereotypes from non-Asians and unfair persecution from Asian men?

It isn't just the news personnel who have to reflect the demographics of the area, it's also advertisements for various businesses (i.e. Banks, Car Dealerships, etc.) which must reflect the demographics of the area as well.

I think the sociologist has a good grip on some of the Asian intra/extra cultural psychosis. Asians are by no means the only group to have this intra-social disorder, African-Americans for hundreds of years have dealt with similar issues amongst themselves. Light skin verses dark skin, Black American verses Black African, all identity issues pretty much set up memetically, by Whites wanting to control. Stereotypes, memetically speaking are/have been great instruments in perpetuating unproven dogma. The number one thing Americans do besides make cars, is push information, not into computers (that too), but our heads. The pushing of information is a multi-trillion dollar affair, supported by the cute Asian girl who prefers White guys, because of the perception they have more power (economic potential), to corporations, governments, and of course the biggest pusher throughout history, organized religion! Above I mentioned a cute Asian girl, I am not picking on her, but how is she capable of deconstructing hundreds of years of central dogma, the answer is she can't. So, in answer to the original question, are Asian-American women victims of prejudice? The answer is we're all guilty of maintaining unproven dogma in our brains, from books, to grandparent, to Hollywood, and to religion. Remember, the truth is not a fact, but a perception temporally moving through time, that should be constantly challenged.

"Just like I believe that their are White women who would be teased for dating an Asian man by White men."
Also by other white women who do not want to be tainted by non-white blood and pity any white woman who does.
"I used to date a Korean guy and I believe I was tormented at least 7 times by White men saying things like..."I know hes not taking care of you right", "I know he aint hitting that the right way", "Why dont you get a real man and not a boy"."
Are you sure there were not white females in this group...did you loose any of your white female friends for dating an Asian? What was the reaction of your family?

Actually couple of weeks ago near the north Georgian town of Dillard, an Icelandic male entered a restaurant with his Singaporean wife...where a bunch of rednecks surrounded them. They let them go because he was not an American (or at least not from the area). It was quite an experience for the couple and both of them are part of the senior management of an international organization. Where did the incident regarding your bf happen?

True. Let us look at Hong Kong. They let British and American citizens who overstay their visa go scott free...however they try to stop Mainland Chinese from entering Hong Kong. Self-hate comes in different forms. Furthermore, centuries of hatred against among Asian groups mean that whites are viewed more favorably than other Asians. I know of a Chinese chap who has disowned his sons for marrying other Asians...however who also has two daughters married to whites...his white son in laws have been disowned for not marrying a "real woman" and not some "non-white tramp."

Their experience is different. They would rather have non-white in laws than white...of course, there are those who hate Asians as well...it is a two way street and constant fighting among non-whites keep the whites in power as in the case of the mayor of LA.
