Are AA Women the Real Victims of Prejudice?
sian women get a free ride at the expense of Asian men. That's the received wisdom here in the U.S. This belief appears premised on the suspicion that American society sees Asian women as sexy exotics in need of rescuing from the cold clutches of Asian men who don't know how to smile except evilly.
The real victim?

Credit Hollywood for its tireless casting of Asian women as sexual accessories to white heroes while suppressing the very existence of Asian men except as unsavory paper tigers. Credit too the TV networks that uncover bevies of talking Asian women but rarely their male counterparts.
In fairness this media fantasy of the Asian race was partly inspired by recent history. Devastated and impoverished Asian nations sent tens of thousands of war brides and orphans, followed by several million desperate immigrants willing to hock their identities while toiling to build new lives.
Male-dominated societies toast new women as exotic sexual prospects while suppressing new men as an exploitable lower class or even enemy aliens. The women get all the breaks and the men get all the lumps. Even worse, the women have their heads turned and adopt a scornful attitude toward their own men. So goes the complaint of some AA men.
The women have a different take. Sexual predators bearing insulting stereotypes must be fended off while coping with women who see them as unfair competitors. Add to that the pain of being scorned as sellouts by AA men for no more reason than their apparent welcome by American society. Worst of all, complain AA women, is being begrudged the right to take simple pleasure in their own identities. How much easier just to face straightforward racial prejudice!
Do Asian women really have an easier time in America? Or do they suffer from the double-whammy of insulting stereotypes from non-Asians and unfair persecution from Asian men?

Do AFs have it easier than AMs? It depends. My take it as long as AFs are willing to play the role that the mainstream society prescribes them, things will be in their favor. If AFs want to break loose from that mold, they will be beat down in no time. If they play the white women's game, putting on some hard-core feministic rhetoric, Asianphiles will turn away and go back to women of their own races.

It's too bad about AFs reappropriating all these white guys. On a large scale(as opposed to single encounters) how would you propose to counter the Asian female threat(I'm assuming you're a WF)in the form of cutthroat competition for the attention of WMs? Keep in mind that images are everywhere; magazines, books, TV, movies, of AF/WM couples. In addition to whatever other factors, they both have totally bought into this concept. It may be that many AFs don't have big chests and JLO butts but it doesn't seem to matter. It may also be that many WFs don't want AF's men anyway as you say. This would leave you WFs at a severe disadvantage in terms of war: to only defend but never attack. You guys would be at their mercy. They will choose when and where the battle will take place, strictly on their terms, not yours. You will always take a gulp whenever you're with your man and a half decent looking AF approaches. You hope she doesn't take an interest and leaves you and your man alone. You wish you could be beamed up out of harm's way. It is a predator/ Lamb scenario and guess which one you are? You WFs should do something about this and not just be victims.

Just saw your post and I highly agree w/most of what you've said. I'm not white nor Asian but I have noticed this time and time again. There are many AFs who want a white man, ANY white man and the fact that they may be w/someone already doesn't seem to phase these women a bit. However, WFs have been doing the same thing to other races so you can't climb up on a soapbox and get "holier than thou". White women have a long, long history of being known as sluts and manipulative when it comes to getting a man. I think they are just now getting a taste of their own medicine. And yeah, the reason you don't see WFs doing it to AFs is b/c most WFs don't want AMs anyway. Bottom line is that you are right...he was a jerk. I firmly feel that no woman can "steal" a man away. She didn't put a gun to his head so obviously he "went" w/her...not "stolen". Big difference. But I guarantee you if ANY woman of ANY race disrespected me like that to my face, we would have had some serious words!!!! Personally, I'm glad his parents cut him off. It serves him right for what he did to you! By the way, I also agree that many AFs do act like they are God's gift to man when in fact, the harsh reality is that many of them, while they may be attractive in the face, don't have much going on the side of a body. I've even heard this from many AMs. They prefer women who are more built and have a butt and breasts. I think these white men who go after these women are either fulfilling some Asian fetish, looking for someone extremely passive and submissive or are closet pedophiles who just want someone who's built like she's only 13 years old. Either way, it's a scary thought why they do it!!

I do agree however that it was inappropriate for the other lady to do such a thing.
Perhaps UT Alumna should have had the guts to assert herself, instead of whining about it afterwards when the relationship collapsed?
It may or may not have been his loss. What a pity if he stayed with someone with such narrow, racist thoughts.

I think 90% of Asian women walk around thinking they're the hottest women around. Sorry about your ex, but oh well, it's his loss. Going up to a guy with a girlfriend next to him and hitting on that guy is completely devoid of class.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. However, I believe that your boyfriend at the time may have been displaying signs that he was losing interest in you even before the other lady stepped into the picture.
Mixed children are NOT "half-breed mongrels". How dare you even say that!
Men will be with women who show that they care for them. It is obvious that he was not happy with you at the time. I doubt that he was mindless.
Women like that come in ALL colors.
You don't see WFs doing it to AMs because the majority of you women date your own kind.
