Are AA Women the Real Victims of Prejudice?
sian women get a free ride at the expense of Asian men. That's the received wisdom here in the U.S. This belief appears premised on the suspicion that American society sees Asian women as sexy exotics in need of rescuing from the cold clutches of Asian men who don't know how to smile except evilly.
The real victim?

Credit Hollywood for its tireless casting of Asian women as sexual accessories to white heroes while suppressing the very existence of Asian men except as unsavory paper tigers. Credit too the TV networks that uncover bevies of talking Asian women but rarely their male counterparts.
In fairness this media fantasy of the Asian race was partly inspired by recent history. Devastated and impoverished Asian nations sent tens of thousands of war brides and orphans, followed by several million desperate immigrants willing to hock their identities while toiling to build new lives.
Male-dominated societies toast new women as exotic sexual prospects while suppressing new men as an exploitable lower class or even enemy aliens. The women get all the breaks and the men get all the lumps. Even worse, the women have their heads turned and adopt a scornful attitude toward their own men. So goes the complaint of some AA men.
The women have a different take. Sexual predators bearing insulting stereotypes must be fended off while coping with women who see them as unfair competitors. Add to that the pain of being scorned as sellouts by AA men for no more reason than their apparent welcome by American society. Worst of all, complain AA women, is being begrudged the right to take simple pleasure in their own identities. How much easier just to face straightforward racial prejudice!
Do Asian women really have an easier time in America? Or do they suffer from the double-whammy of insulting stereotypes from non-Asians and unfair persecution from Asian men?

it's fine by me if you find non-AF more attractive.....not that you need my approval but good for you anyway!
back home in sydney i know 2 AM who date hot white girls so i've never thought that AM either couldn't or shouldn't date non-AF's
thanks for at least leaving open the possibility i don't have an asian "fetish"....i don't think it's a helpful term....i mean what would you think if people asked if you had a white fetish?
i admit a lot of white guys haven't done a good job at promoting the IR dating thing....some of them probably are fetishist (inasfar as that is possible with living things)....but that shouldn't spoil it for the rest of us.

Again, thanks for your post and view on the topic, I appreciated. You said some good things in your post and I want to bring it up as well.
It's only right for us to stand up to him [maxdacat] as he would also stood-up for AF. I'm glad me and my brothers did so. I am also really flatter for all the females [WF/LF/BF] out there that also would "whole-heartedly [your term]" defend the AM that they are dating. This is really great to see b/c it showed that the AM in relationship with non-AF are in good hands as non-AF are also in good hands. I am very happy to see this from the two side and i'm sure all the AM would be happy to see too. You ladies rule, and much appreciation to all of you.
And, yes your right I have also come accross some AF that won't "flat-out" [your term] date AM [likewise for non-AF]. But I can careless b/c ironically I have also heard that there are some AM that are the same. I guess this is what the saying, "what goes around comes around" means.
Yes, I would also keep in mind that there are beautiful BF that think of AM as hot, thanks for the reminder and compliment. Speaking of BF, I have this friend who I work with. She is a nice girl, very friendly, out going, funny, etc. When I was working with her, I've learn a few things about her. What I've learn from her was that she was very interest in learning chinese and asked me to teach her. I was very surprise by that. She also was interested in chinese martial art for some reason. This I find to be very interesting. However I can not generalize that all BF are like her.
I and other asain would be very interesting in learning about you ladies as well as this friend are in learning about asains. Once again, thanks for your post!!

Wow, so you look like Vanessa Williams? She's gorgeous. I think there are many beautiful Black women, I see them all the time. Hey go to the AM seeking out non-Asian women forum, there are plenty of Asian men that are attracted to Black, Latina, Middle Eastern women.
I agree that AFs that are with WMs always have this smugness and cockiness too, like they think they're shoving it in Asian guys face that they're dating a white guy. Who cares?? That is SO weird that Asian girls will flat out say they won't date Asian guys. I have never heard of a white girl saying that about white guys, or a black girl saying that about black guys. And Asian guys have so much to offer and are so hot! They don't know what they're missing. Let them be smug and cocky, who cares.

Let me at least answer your post coz you sound like a reasonable peron.....good for you that you put the effort into working out.....i think we have the same vital stats (struggling a bit with the conversion from metric though!).....and i don't doubt you are probably fitter than me.....i don't go to gyms much because i'm too busy working/travelling and if i do i usually go to step/aerobic classes because it really help me to have someone yelling what to do!.....again good for you if you can find your own motivation.
i think this whole saga started when Curious1 postulated that AF have the bodies of pre-teens and that WM who go for them are closet peadophiles....i tried to turn that argument on its head by substituting AM for AF.....probably not a great move as people will take it out of context.....the point here is i don't think either AF's or AM's are built like pre-teens but they shouldn't be judged by others standards
anyhow i agree that there are a lot of dodgy WM/AF couples out there.....there are also a lot of dodgy XM/YF couples too......no i am not jealous of an AM who has a WF.....what's it got to do with me??
i think the responses here illustrate some of the stereotypes about asian women....read the earlier posts and see for yourself....well sorry for the ramble and enjoy the workouts

Okay, I'll answer your questions.
1) I'm not dating an Asian man to get back at White men for dating Asian girls. When I date someone, I date them because I'm interested in them, not to get revenge on anyone else or to prove a point. I think it's kinda lame to base your dating preferences on other peoples'.
2) I definitely don't think there is a limited amount of White, Black or Latino men out there that are attractive and would make good boyfriends. I have White and Black male friends that I think are great people, intelligent, funny, and will make some girl happy.
I chose to date my boyfriend because he is an amazing package- looks,personality, intelligence,charm, etc.
Anyway, just sharing my experiences with you. :)

I haven't been online in a couple of days so I just saw a couple of your posts. Thanks for replying!! And thanks for pointing out that Maxdacat is a WM...that certainly explains his defensive behavior re:AFs. Now I get it! haha Anyway, I hope all goes well w/you and check out the other post I made for the fellas who were supporting us against Maxdacat. I hope to see more posts from you since you and I seem to share the same thoughts!!

I'm glad you all stood up to Maxdacat. It's very reassuring for Non-AFs to see. I'm the one he originally was attacking. I like all of your posts and appreciate your points of view. I would like to point out though, since it seemed like a few of you assumed I was a WF, I'm not...not totally anyway. I'm mixed and I guess just to give you an idea, I somewhat bear a resemblance to Vanessa Williams from what I've been told...only a slightly lighter complexion. Anyway, Maxdacat seems to think I'm jealous of AFs and I have no reason to be. I was merely pointing out to him that it seems like the AFs that are w/WMs seem to have a smugness and cockiness about them like they are better than AMs. Why? I don't know exactly. And I've met some AFs who have told me they flat out WON'T date AM. They get surprised when I tell them my boyfriend is Chinese and then they begin asking me why? Like I was lowering myself or something. I defend him whole-heartedly and hope to marry him someday! He is truly the best boyfriend I've ever had! Anyway, thanks again for the support guys!! And please keep in mind, while you do find my white sisters attractive, please don't forget there are plenty of my beautiful black sisters out there who think AMs are hot too!!!!!! :-)
