COMING SHIFTS IN PACIFIC POWER BALANCE

f the outcome of the Cold War has shown one thing, it's that economic power begets military power -- and not vice versa.
Today American power is unrivaled, the product of three centuries of unbroken industrial and territorial expansion. A half century ago its sole Pacific rival was Japan, a nation that had begun building an industrial base a mere seven decades earlier. Today Japan is wealthy but stagnant and adrift, its spiritual and political back never having mended after having been shattered by World War II and subsequent occupation.
While not entirely writing off Japan's potential to pose new challenges, the U.S. has begun eyeing China as the next strategic rival.
Barely three decades after China began ditching its centralized command economy for the glories of capitalist wealth, most of its 1.25 billion citizens remain mired in an agrarian subsistence economy. But the 125 million Chinese participating in the industrial economy of the coastal regions have fueled China's drive for superpower status. By 2015 it will match the U.S. in GDP -- then double it by 2025. Militarily China has been a formidable land power since the Corean War. Now the Red Army is acquiring state-of-the-art warplanes, missiles and submarines. It has announced plans to send a man into space by 2005. China's overriding aim is to keep the Pacific from becoming an American pond.
Any shift in the Pacific power balance must also take into account the two Coreas, Taiwan and Russia. At any given time each of these nations are triangulating a course of maximum advantage with reference to the U.S., China and Japan. The precise posture these nations ultimately adopt may well tip the balance.
How will the Pacific power balance shift in the coming decades? What developments will pose the greatest threats to American power?

what i noticed in these forums is that whenever an asian badmouths the jews to start a long discussion, that person usually leaves behind a residue. now what does that mean? these people don't have anything good to say but come here to start trouble by being anonymous and then leave the discussion board surreptitiously.

it's a shame that asians are paranoid of the "mythical jewish worldy domination" as much as the europeans. maybe asians have been reading the protocols of the elder zionists or other antisemitic material just like the white gentiles.

this forum is about the rising power of the pacific rim yet the asians want to tell everyone that jews are out there to eliminate them, just f##king unbelievable!!!
what a shame!

To True Blue American Patriot: I agree with most of your premise, however, your statements about ethnic IQ are not as inclusive as they should be. The truth is that other East Asians, specifically Koreans and Japanese, score equally high in IQ to the Chinese (any difference is statistically insignificant). I believe this is why media trashing of Asians is extended to all Asians, not just Chinese. We are seen as a threat and the greater the degree that we can be minimallized or portrayed as a foreign threat, the greater the ability to keep Asian influences out of the world's most lucrative market, the US. Look at the uproar that occurs when Asian companies try to acquire American companies, while the fact that most foreign ownership of American companies is by European companies, goes unmentioned. I believe that an Asian common market union is needed to compete with the US and the European alliances.

Only in America would some one try to make somesort of conflict of interest between the Chinese and the Jews.

Go to China and ask if they are even aware of this hypothetical conflict. Chinese awareness of Judism is almost non-existant. Even Chinese association with Christianity is not that deeply rooted. It is very superficial by Western standards. Chinese people sometimes align themselves with whether or not Jesus is on the symbolic crusifix or not.

I don't really think the Jews are going to have much influence on the shift in power. Unless Isreal starts selling US military secrets to China at a faster rate. Then the Arab and the US would be pissed off, then that would be the end of Isreal.

True Blue American,

Actually, it's really an Asian vs Jewish confrontation. I've met some Jewish people who said the KOREANS are also rivals with them in school and in small businesses.

Think deeply if every Asian country becomes educated and sophisticated, Jewish world domination is insignificant. There are way way more Asians than there are Jews.

The reason why the Jews are powerful in the US is because other white groups support them. Imagine the Chinese, the Japanese and the Koreans becoming an Asian team, hell, we'll be kicking a$$ as well. With all the combined efforts and the unique talents of each Asian group, we could be GOD in our own right!

Btw, a growing number of Jews are tired of their capitalistic, $$$ hungry culture, which is true for all western peoples. Many of them are discovering the things of the East which symbolizes harmony and balance...things such as Buddhism, Taoism, Tai Chi,...etc. Now why can't a westerner adapt to an eastern tradition if an easterner can adapt to a western one?

Yeah, they could make fun of us in Hollywood while we make fun of them in a Chinese opera, so what?

The Asians on the other hand, are becoming more and more western. Everyone should take note that Asians are becoming increasingly more ambitious, arrogant, $$$ hungry and unrelenting as each day passes!

Take a look at the younger generation of Asians and compare them with the young generation of Jews and Whites. Now look closely, wouldn't say that the Asians are more $$$ and success oriented "wanting to become white"?

Perhaps the East and the West are switching roles!

Asians and Westerners are trading coats, yeah yeah
