ANTAGONIZING CHINA OVER NMD

lobal peace and prosperity depends to a remarkable degree on robust exchanges between the world's richest nation and the world's most populous. Considering that fact, the leaders in Washinton D.C. and Beijing have been either tragically star-crossed or remarkably cavalier about provoking confrontation.
In 1996 Beijing fired a pair of ballistic missiles across the Taiwan Strait under the pretext of "military exercises", prompting the U.S. to send a carrier battle group in response. In 1999 the U.S. bombed the Chinese embassy in Kosovo and ascribed it to an intelligence error.
In mid 2000 the two nations seemed about to put the bad blood behind them when President Clinton struck a deal for U.S. approval of China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO). Then George Bush vowed to commit untold billions to building a space-based national missile defense (NMD) system to detect and destroy ballistic missiles that might threaten the U.S. A clear effort at upsetting the global balance of power, charged Beijing, vowing to commit whatever resources necessary to counter NMD. Its predictably harsh and intransigent stance toward a crippled U.S. spy plane forced to land on Hainan Island produced another standoff which, for several tense days, seemed capable of triggering a shooting war.
What American wouldn't want a shield from foreign ballistic missiles? But the NMD is hardly a sure thing. It's premised on technology that won't exist for a decade or more. It will end up costing well over $100 billion dollars. Meanwhile its mere existence on drawing boards sours relations with China, Russia and other nations. At present all it guarantees is another arms race. The only way it makes strategic sense is as a means to bankrupt a nascent geopolitical rival by forcing it into an arms race it can't afford. Look at what the nuclear arms race did to Russia.
Does the U.S. stand to gain or lose by using the NMD to threaten and alienate China?

Hahahahha..... Pakistans Air force has a kill ratio of 7 to 1. It is one of only 7 nations to have confirmed fighter aces. India has a big fat 0. This is a fact. Look it up on the web. As far as Su-30's being better fighters, they are better short range tactical strike fighters because they are basically bigger jets. But India and Pakistan share a very close quarter arial strike theatre. Hence most engagements would be dogfights. In such a scenario F-16's would easily outperform Su-30s. Compound this with the fact Pakistani pilots are just better trained. How else could a ragtag airforce of F-86 Sabres in 65 and 74 down Indian Mirages and Jaguars.
India never took half of Pakistan in any war. What kind of garbage to they teach you in Bombay. Both 65 and 71 were inconclusive outcomes. 74 was the only real victory India could claim and that was is Bangladesh on the other side of the sub-continent.
Also for your information nobody wins a nuclear war moron. It would take only 3 nukes to destroy Pakistan and it would take only 8 to destroy India, and Pakistan has over 25 warheads with 1500 mile capabilty. That means about the only place left standing in India would be a hut in Tamil Nadu.
As far as Kashmirs history is concerned, thanks but I know all I need to know about Ghulab Singh and his autocratic rule.

I really couldn't care less if all the Muslims in India and Pakistan and all across the world died. We're anti-Muslim. Period. India was divided because of Muslims, and India is called Hindustan...land of the Hindus. It's our land, and whether we burn each and every Muslim alive, I could care less. Muslims are resonsible for terrorism all over the world, including the Sept. 11 attacks that killed 3,000 people. You can sit here and be a Muslim or side with the Muslims all you want, but I can't wait to see the day that Jews actually get mad enough to drop the bomb right on Yassar's ass. The Hindus and Jews have one thing in common, Muslims are our sworn enemy. And as long as the jehadis attack us, they will have no rights in our land nor will they be living. Hindu "fundamentalism" has begun recently to counter the barbaric attacks by Muslims over hundreds of years. Muslims have solely determined their own fate by proceeding with Koranic terrorism. They will die, and we will all be gracious to see them go. I hope Allah has taught them to give up this route of terrorism, because it isn't going to work. Not against India, America, or Israel. There will be NO Palestine, and the Kashmiri people will not be freed. The Jews will rightfully murder the grotesque Muslims and burn the Koran. The Hindus and Jews will take the Islamic sword and thrust it into the heart of Mecca and watch it bleed to death suffering what millions of Hindus and Jews have suffered over the years. At one time, Hindus and Jews wished for peace and resorted to peace even after violently being attacked by the Mohhamedans. Today we will no longer bear victim to the Islamas, today we will conquer them and make sure they cease to exist. The Hindus will fight for their land and we will win. The time of Gandhi is gone, long gone, and the time of death to the Muslims has come.

Your analysis is completely wrong. Yaqoots facts are sound. The U.S government is not worried about Pakistani nuclear proliferation because they are well aware that 4 years ago the Saudi government approach Pakistan for nuclear secrets and in return they would foot the bill for Pakistans military budget for 10 years. Pakistan flatly refused. This my boy is a fact and this is why people in places of power in the U.S> are so worrieed about Pakistans nukes. The only people who are worried are Indians and well they should be.
And for your edification both humanitarian groups amnesty international and doctors without borders have charged the Indian army with multple human rights violations in Kashmir and against Muslims in general in India. Also the religious righwingers in Pakistan have never won more then 3% to 5% of that nations congress seats in that nations history while in India the extremist Hindu BJP and Nazi like VJP have won most of the seats in congress. India's secular society is a complete joke.
As far as cross border terrorism is concerned the fact of the matter is the Pakistan didn't start the fire they only add fuel to it. But the fire will continue to burn until India complies with U.N. resolutions and Nehru's own wishes for Kashmir to recieve a plebosite vote. Someone used the analogy of Mexican terrorists attacking America. That analogy would only be accurate if in the border states of New Mexico and Arizona, Mexican Americans lived in concentrations camps, Mexican American women were routinely raped by U.S. soldiers and over 10,000 Mexican American men had been arrested and somehow disappeared.
India in the end is all talk. I perdicted nothing would come of this border build up and nothing has. You know why? Because the whole purpose of this little trantrum was so that the BJP could unite the nation and win its national elections. This had nothing to do with war and had everything to do with the ballot box. Nothing legitamizes a second term in office like war hysteria with an old enemy. Its one of the simplest politic ploys in the book. Japan knows it, America knows it, UK knows it. etc etc.
Turk made a very valid point as well. If the Indo-Pak war ever goes into 5th gear, India needs to worry about being eaten alive in the North by India's old enemy and Pakistan's staunch ally China. And don't expect the U.S. to help much since they play all three sides fo the fence when its comes to all three countries. As far as India's good buddy Russia is concerned, they have enough troubles of thier own.

Turk and everyone...let me shed some REAL light on the situation...
first of all India has WON all three of the wars, and in 1971 it took over half of West Pakistan (but gave it back) and freed East Pakistan (Bangladesh), and besides the fact that Pakistan has a about 32 F-16s, India could wipe Pakistan off the map. The F-16's would no match for India's Su-30s. The small and weak Pakistani navy was destroyed and all hailed Pakistani Air Force was left in shambles in all the wars. You talk as if you know alot about Kashmir, but it's obvious you know nothing at all. Read the papers, watch the news, crack open an encyclopedia next time you come around. Otherwise let us WHO ACTUALLY know the history of India and Kashmir do the talking.
No one ever said the BJP was good. But they aren't really that bad. The Muslims have their own country and their own world, they should live there and leave the rest of us alone. "Ethnic" cleansing or not, the enemy must be cleared from India. I bet 60,000,000 of those Indian Muslims side with Pakistan. I would rather call it "enemy" cleansing.
Indian military forces outrank and outperform Pakistan. And in size it's 2 to 1. Pakistan has declared a first use policy because they know they will lose the war. Indian forces would take half of Pakistan in days, not even weeks. Pakistan would then fire nukes. Some would hit India. India would then retailate by launching several nukes decimating Pakistan. It all works out well in the end. As usual, India wins.
I wouldn't underestimate Indian military power just like many of the Pakistani and other people do. But the Islamist generals of Pakistan know that they will be destroyed and nukes are their only defense.
...nuclear weapons are for pussies...we should fight wars like they use to. Real death and destructive so people can see what war really is. It's horrible. People of America today don't know that. They're all pussies. The whites are. One man dies, they're all crying about it.
