Bagging a Major Babe at Friend's Party

ne of the girls me and my friends met at the party was this beautiful brunette with striking blue eyes. My friends, both whites and Asians, and I were very interested in her as we were all talking to her. After a while, though, I got bored and excused myself. I also thought I didn't want to compete with my friends for the same girl. So I went downstairs and mingled with other people.

Much later on, I went back upstairs and saw one of my friends, Jim, who is white, still talking to the same girl. Looking at his body language, I could tell that he was hitting on her. So I left them alone and tried to talk to other people instead. After a while, I got really tired of standing up, so when I saw an empty chair behind that girl, I just grabbed it.

I still didn't want to disturb them, so I just sat there by myself quietly watching people and enjoying my drink. Somehow the girl noticed that I was there and started talking to me. She even moved to my side after I told her how comfortable my chair was. Jim of course followed her and stood next to us. We all then talked about religion, politics, terorrism, etc. During this time, I noticed that she talked to me more and more than to Jim and that she turned to me more often just to look at me. I could tell that Jim was not very happy with her, maybe because she didn't give him attention he wanted, or because she didn't agree with almost any of his arguments. Finally after a while, he decided to call it a night and went home, leaving me and her alone. We continued our conversation, but we talked about ourselves this time, e.g. movies we liked, cities we had travelled, books we had read, fun things we did, etc, etc. until we realized that we were one of the last people at the party and decided to leave.

As we went out the building, to our surprise we found Jim standing on sidewalk on the other side of the street. I asked him what he was doing over there but I wasnt sure if I heard his answer. I said to her I would go talk to him to see if there was anything wrong. Knowing that I would have to say good bye to her right there instead of walking her home, I asked her for her phone number. She gave it to me. "Call me and we'll do stuff." she said and then gave me a hug and left.

I went to Jim to see what's going on. It turned out he was so angry at me. He thought I was stealing her from him. But I could see that he was more sad than angry. I felt bad for him, but I explained that I didn't try to steal her from him, that I had left him and her alone all night, and that I didn't make the first move when she decided to sat on my chair, etc. It was all her moves. He then asked me why she gave me her phone number. I didn't want him to get hurt further so I told him it was for an article on the Internet about politics that I would like to tell her about. I spent about an hour talking to him on the street trying to calm him down. It was 4:30 in the morning. He finally understood and said I was off the hook this time.

Somehow I felt bad for him because I knew he was trying so hard to get her all night long. He kept saying she was the best looking girl at the party. I also felt guilty because I did like her. But today I talked about this to my other friends and all of them said I shouldn't feel bad or guilty because I didn't do anything wrong. She made the choice. That made me feel a lot better. But I still don't know what his reaction would be if he knew me and her were more than just discussing politics....

READER COMMENTS

Crazy Asian,

Seriously. Who gives a flying about what your white bro thinks? Sure, he's your friend, but you clearly indicated that (a): you gave him and the chick a long time to fraternize and (b): It was her choice to show noticeably more affection towards you.

Instead of acting like a b*tchy-whiney little white priss, he should've accepted the fact that he had his turn and f***ed it up and you were the better guy. He's probably even more pissed off cause he was edged out by an asian.

The point is, you did NOT have to justify your actions or make him feel better for over an hour at 4:30am on the friggin sidewalk. Feel proud.
