Locations

Wilmington, Delaware
AstraZeneca's U.S. headquarters are in Wilmington, Delaware, located in the heart of the beautiful and historic Delaware Valley. From Wilmington, it's an easy drive to either New York City or Washington, D.C., making for great weekend getaways for single people or families. But you may not want to leave Delaware, as it offers an excellent combination of quiet, rural scenery and urban conveniences and attractions. The Delaware Valley is full of history, from the Liberty Bell to Valley Forge National Park and Longwood Gardens. There are many museums and theaters in and around Wilmington, as well as a variety of recreational activities to keep you occupied when you're away from the office.

The cost of living and educational opportunities in Wilmington are among the best in the nation. The area also boasts five major medical schools, numerous research institutions and universities. An added incentive for moving to this unique city is the ease of getting around. Commuting around Wilmington is simple and convenient, with a network of highways and railways. Philadelphia's International Airport, the Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) Airport and Amtrak are all located within easy driving distance and provide access to national and international destinations.

Wayne, Pennsylvania
The charming town of Wayne provides a beautiful setting for a variety of activities. The temperate climate allows you to experience four distinct seasons. Settled since the 1600s, it's easy to understand the appeal of the area. For the past 100 years, the town has been considered one of the best, if not the best, places in the western suburbs of Philadelphia to live and raise a family. The school system is one of the best in the country, the median income is very high and the crime rate is very low. Wayne has a quaint business community and located close to several golf courses, colleges, parks, libraries, shopping areas, restaurants, and entertainment. The ocean and mountains are both about two hours away, and 30th Street Station in Philadelphia is only 30 minutes away by train from Wayne Station. Employees of our Wayne facility have found the town a welcome change from urban life.

Westborough, Massachusetts
Located just 29 miles outside of Boston, Westborough is an ideal haven for living and/or raising a family. With a population of just over 14,000, this is a comfortable community. The area contains many old Indian trails, some as old as 7,000 years. The early English explorer John Oldham followed these trails through Westborough in 1633, and by the late 1600s, a few families had settled near Lake Chauncy, in the "west borough" of Marlborough. Besides being within an easy drive to Boston, you can easily reach the mountains, beach, or a variety of charming towns and cities all along the East Coast. But there's plenty to keep you right in Westborough. The business community provides ideal shopping and dining right in town. When you join us in Westborough, you won't be disappointed.

Newark, Delaware
The area abounds in museums and cultural attractions of our nation's founding and early growth. One of the "must sees" is the Hagley Museum along the historic Brandywine River. The Brandywine River Museum, in Chadds Ford, is home to numerous paintings by members of the Wyeth family and other artists of the Brandywine tradition. In downtown Wilmington, the restored Grand Opera House, built over 100 years ago, offers concerts, ballets and operas and is Delaware's Center for the Performing Arts. A short walk from "the Grand," The Playhouse theatre in the lobby of the Hotel du Pont offers a selection of Broadway productions each season. And in neighboring southern Chester County, Pennsylvania, Longwood Gardens yearly draws thousands of visitors from all over the world to view its 20 indoor gardens and stroll its well-tended grounds.

Boston, MA
Our Research & Development center in Waltham, Massachusetts is the newest AstraZeneca facility. Located just 10 miles from downtown Boston, this striking contemporary structure houses the latest in world-class pharmaceutical science focusing on cancer and infectious disease areas. In addition, the Boston site is the home of AstraZeneca’s North
American Enabling Science & Technology Center —- a powerful source of innovation to the Company’s worldwide R&D organization. With slightly more than half a million people, Boston is just the right size for people who crave a cosmopolitan atmosphere within an easily manageable city. From the shopping, dining and history of downtown to the understated elegance of Beacon Hill and the Back Bay, Boston is sure to please you. Montreal, Canada
Our Montreal, Canada R&D facility is a three year old center located in the growing Saint-Laurent Technoparc section of the city. Approximately 100 researchers work here to discover and develop innovative therapies for acute and chronic pain. Scientific efforts at our Montreal facility focus on the mechanisms involved in inflammatory and neuropathic pains. This AstraZeneca site collaborates with a number of biotech companies and strong academic research programs involved in pain and central nervous system research. You can experience the latest in urban living and the latest in scientific research when you join our company in Montreal. The city itself offers a seemingly endless array of activity and contrasts. Some favorite attractions include: the beautiful Jean-Drapeau Park, an expansive oasis of greenery and gardens; Old Montreal and Old Port, which give you sense of the original history of the city and are buzzing with activity all year long; hip neighborhoods full of shopping, dining, and theater such as that found in Plateau Mont-Royal; and the diversity of Little Italy and Chinatown. A cool underground pedestrian network allows you to navigate easily around the city by foot.


Field Sales
Excellent Field Sales opportunities exist with AstraZeneca in a variety of diverse locations. These positions offer a chance for you to put your exceptional sales skills to work within a groundbreaking industry that helps people worldwide. Manufacturing
AstraZeneca’s manufacturing division has existed since 1971, located in Newark, Delaware. One of the first products produced at this facility was Mylanta. This facility houses some of the most advanced pharmaceutical production and technical support in the nation. Products manufactured and packaged at this location include cardiovascular, oncology, antibiotics, antimicrobial, anesthetics, central nervous system, asthma and antimalaria treatments. The manufacturing facility also serves as a major distribution center, shipping 25 million pounds of product each year.

The commitment to modernization and expansion at this facility has been ongoing. After nearly three decades, this 145-acre site has over 600,000 square feet of facilities. The Newark site is the principal production and distribution facility for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in the U.S., and is a designated Foreign Trade Zone.

The Manufacturing facility has continued to play an important part in the community. Its employees provide volunteer and financial support for a wide range or organizations and projects including Adopt-A-Highway, Junior Achievement, River Clean-Ups, REACH for Healthier Kids Program, and the New Castle County and Delaware State Chambers of Commerce.

The commitment of the employees and the company has made the manufacturing facility an important component of the AstraZeneca family. .

Responsibilities include selling to a diverse customer base including physicians, formulary committee members, pharmacy directors, nurses and other influential personnel. Also, achieving an assigned revenue forecast for each promoted product and/or contribute to the achievement for the district revenue forecast; develop a territory business plan that identifies physicians with the greatest sales potential; develop and maintain a database that documents sales strategies, service needs, and future call objectives; develop a call strategy that provides the appropriate reach and frequency to maximize the value of sales time; favorably influence the prescribing habits of the target audience by developing a customized, persuasive sales message that is in compliance with FDA and Company’s guidelines.

Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree; minimum of two years previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience; strong communication and organization skills; computer literacy; active Driver’s license and good driving record.
