What the hell is going on here?
We should be on a "asianf-blackmale" poll not about ideological war between Asians & Blacks poll. Perhaps i'm a bit romantic but i'm engaged with a black male and hope to get many children from him. When I see beautiful models like Tyson Beckford or Naomi campbell and sport's greatest like Tiger woods descended from this two cultures, I can't help being happy for my children who will have many idols under some racists people's nose.Because of his own appellation "Cablanasian" I can guess that Tiger wins to please people he loves like his parents.By this way I mean people who are open-minded and everything but narrow-minded "afrocentric" or "asiancentric" people.

Thanks for your input. I think I made a choice basic on business expansion (and what seems chic....). I'm not planning to travel the world yet. It's enough people here to talk to.

Oh yeah, my wife watches the soaps and I seen this woman.... on Port Charles... Joy Bisco I think. And I think she's Filipina.... MY WORD, Mmm, Mmm, Mmmmmmm!!! I'm NOT about to cheat on my wife because she is my life, but she did make my head turn.

Chan Klans Diva,

"Firstly your are the dumb shit not me, in Pacific Asia or Oceania, there are many ethnic groups but to cut it down there is micronesians and polynesians, micronesians are the papua type people with negroid type hair, but polynesians are the straight hair more south east asian looking people."

Who cares about this, the fact is you said the Rock was not Black and his father is Black and his mother is Samoan. You said Tiger Woods' father is half Chinese and he is not. You said Usher is half Cambodian and have yet to provide documentation.

You are the dumb shit, making comments that have no basis in fact.

Are you so desparate to pretend someone of Pacific Island or Southeast Asian descent actually did something noteworthy, that you feel it necessary to negate the entirety of the genetic make-up of mixed-race people?

Get a life. And who cares if you dated Black men, judging you by your posts, they weren't really Black.

to samoan son

umm i hate to break it you man, but samoans all polynesians actually originated in the first place from asia, if you look at the samoan polynesian language it is quite similar to that of malay and indonesian. When you say your different to asians, this is not very accurate because asians make up hundreds of different ethnicitys, chinese japanese and korean looking people do not represent the whole of asia, there are the indians and the pakistanis of south asia, the malays that inhabit indonesia, phillipines and malaysia who are more related to polynesians. You have the timorese. Look even a recent study has determined that the Australian Aborigines migrated from china thousands of years ago. Polynesian people are definately not black, micronesians are negroid people but not polynesians.

Chan Klans Diva,

Lemme break it do to you sista. Even tho I wasn't born in this country I can school you alot about Black Americans. First, it was the haoles that invented the damn one drop rule...( this was of course, without too much thought. BUT THEN AGAIN WE TALKING ABOUT COLONIALISM ) So all these babies being born to black women w/ white plantation owner fathers & white women w/ black servants/slaves.....all seen as black. If you got one drop....you are. Now, this was their silly law. AND now, everybody gets all huffy when you say Tiger Woods is black or Vanessa Williams is black or Halle Berry is black. All these people are. And just for the record....I don't think Black people are all trying to claim the brother....he's kinda dry, you know. But, in the u.s. he's a black man, he's not in thailand ( and i'm sorry but, he does look black )

Then you HAD to go there about Dwayne. If you wanna get technical, Dwayne(TheRock) looks like he could be a samoan/tongan mix but, you wouldn't know anything about that. So, living in america where, one parent is black, the society will see him as such.
What about the thing in Hawaii? All that 1/4....1/8....1/16 Hawaiians??? The claim hawaiian with the quickness.

"Pacific Asia or Oceania, there are many ethnic groups but to cut it down there is micronesians and polynesians, micronesians are the papua type people with negroid type hair, but polynesians are the straight hair more south east asian looking people."

I'm polynesian and NONE of my family got straight hair. My boy is Tahitian and they've all got from nappy to straight. To understand polynesia you have to know from whence we came ( and it wasn't asia )Micronesia/Polynesia = we one.
The only south asian looking polynesians are the ones like in Tahiti or Hawaii, that have been laced with asian blood, by the asians that came to work on the islands, during colonization. Ancient Tahitians shoulda looked closer to what people from the Marqueses look like. I could school you more on Oceania but, my hands are getting worked here.

Just wanting to open some eyes.

To: Hispanic Asian Female,

I've just now gotten a chance to sit down and really read your post. I don't know if it was directed towards me for what I've said about my mom, but here is something I'd like to mention to you.

YOU SAID: "It bothers the shit out of me, when people refer to hispanic, they refer only to hispanics of lighter complexion."

Just to let you know, people don't mistake my mom for Hispanic because she's light complected, they think she's Hispanic because she has an Indian look about her (remember, my mom's side of the family is mixed with Native-American blood) --- at least that's how the story goes. You see, where she lives, there are a lot of Hispanics...dark complected, as well as light complected; All are called and considered to be "Hispanic" regardless of their skin color. The one thing that usually sets them apart from the African-Americans (note, African-Americans come in different colors too) as far as their appearance is concerned, is their facial features (most have sort of a basic Indian look about them. At least that's how most people I know can tell). Mom and I now live in two extremely different parts of the U.S.A., but nonetheless, the "American people of Latin descent (dictionary definition of "Hispanic")" are recognized as Hispanic, regardless of their skin tone.

Now, I'm not saying your wrong for the way you feel about the matter, for I'm sure you have your reasons why. But I'm just letting you know, it's not that way everywhere.

To: Chan Klans Diva,

Don't get me wrong, I understand your view. However, I'll have you to know that what you are talking about is the term "Black" as pertaining to the more "specific" use of the term, as according to racial identification:

Merriam Websters Collegiate Dictionary Definition 1. 2. b. (2): "Black" = of or relating to the Afro-American people or their culture.

Definition 2. 4. (b): "Black" = Afro-American

But I'll also have you to know that this same dictionary has other ways of defining "Black" as a use for ethnic identification. These definitions are more of a broad outlook on the matter:

Definition 1. 2. a "Black" = having dark skin, hair, and eyes.

Definition 1. 2. b (1) "Black" = of or relating to ANY of the VARIOUS population groups having dark pigmentation of the skin.

According to another dictionary I read, the term "Black" as relating to ethnicity, was defined as:

"Black" = ANY dark skinned race of people, especially of African descent.

So, yes, it's fair to say that Tiger Woods, some Asians and other races that have dark colored skin, are, in fact, Black. Now I do mind to tell you that "what complexions may, and may not be perceived as dark complected, "remains subjective" (it depends on who you're talking to, & their concept of the matter)".

I don't know if you are new to this web site or not, but one thing you will quickly realize while visiting this poll is "if you leave any loopholes in your statements, people will attack them". You have to realize that you are dealing with people from all over the world, who may have different backgrounds, and people perceive things differently. It would pay to be more "specific" in your post, to prevent any backlash from an apposing reader. If you meant that Tiger Woods, The Rock, and whoever else you mentioned are not "African-Americans", then YOU NEED TO SAY SO SPECIFICALLY; the term "Black," as you see, can be too broad of a term. Choose your words carefully.
