To White?

I think I know what you mean. In the case of African-Americans, it's very difficult to fully explain it to someone not born here. We are Americans, but we are still considered to be less than white Americans. English is my native language because the language, history and culture of my ansestors is lost to me and to every other person here who is a descendant of people brought here as slaves from Africa.

There is nothing wrong with speaking proper English, wearing western clothes, using my given name (I don't know any other one) and all the other things that make me an American. It also isn't wrong for me to try to learn as much about my peoples' history in America and to embrace the cultural differences we have from other groups in America.

It's a shame that some blacks are the victims of resentment from other blacks when they appear to "assimilate" better in this society compared to them. There are black people who are ashamed of being black and who try to behave in ways that will gain them more acceptance from whites. But in most cases the whites still won't accept them as equals and now they have also lost acceptance from blacks as well and they seem lost and alone.

I have noticed some Asians and other ethnic groups also appearing to reject the beauty and differences of their own cultures in order to be more appealing to whites. This could include trying to lose all trace of your wonderful accents, disregarding your history and culture for American culture and exclusively dating whites, regardless of if they only see you as a stereotype, instead of a individual.

I'm not here to judge, I don't have that right. I feel an affinity towards Asian culture but I am not Asian and I never will be. I'm glad to be who I am and despite the negative images promoted by this society, I know African-Americans have a long, proud history in this country. I try to be true to myself and walk, talk, dress and act the way I choose to. I try to give everyone else the benefit of the doubt that they are doing this as well. If they aren't, they should examine why and do something about it.

White, I know exactly what you're saying. I'm black and I remember people saying I act white for the most stupid reasons. I always did different things than other people.Because I dont listen to rap(stoped after the early 90's)Or know much about hip hop I'm:" Not black enough". Even though I listen to jazz and know more about past black musicians. Because I like vollyball better than basketball, or I don't act or talk or dress like they do I'm not black enough, or act white.I'm from the Islands, I don't have to act like them just to please a few people.Thankfully not everyone is like that. As for asian women I'm currently going out with a beautiful Korean woman. I did'nt even approach her, she just asked me out!(that's very rare for someone like me) And her and our family know one another too.

I think Asian & African mixture is AWESOME!!!!! I think Tiger Woods, Naomi Campbell, Rae Dawn Chong, Tryon B., are some of the worlds most gorgeous people!!!!!

What is acting "white?" I hear too many blacks complain asian Americans act too "white" what is that? I can say you blacks act "white" too, you speak English don't you, you have adopted European surnames haven't you? You wear western clothing, right?
So do some of you wish we act more "black?" What is that?
