I just came across this website for the first time and have read some of the comments. Off first impression, it's definitely interesting and will most likely have me coming back in the future.
In general, I just wanted to share that in some way or another I can relate to all the posts that I have read so far.
As for me, I'm a asian male born in Hawaii and raised in Los Angeles. Like anyone else, I am a product of my surroundings and I simply learned to be comfortable and appreciative of what I was accustomed to.
In my case, the various places I grew up in LA, out of my circle of friends I was always one of only very few who were not black or latin. In turn, I never really hung around or dated a female that was not black or latin as well.
Even when I moved from LA (to 20 minutes east) and became more openly exposed to all other races equally, it was natural for me to still lean towards whom and what I was comfortable with.
Of course I am open to anyone from anywhere, and have experienced dating many other races. But over the course of my life, coincidence or not, like 90% of any type of relationship or experience I have had (excluding platonic friendships) have been with either a black or latina female.
Well, I could go on and on, but let me stop before I bore anyone to death...haha...just wanted to share and add to the mix. Peace.

I don't think that this topic should be under the "Interracial" one. It should be something like "Interethnic" or something like that. I'm a 21 yr. old Latina but I'm blond and green-eyed. Like for real, no contacts, bleaching or anything like that. Most people are shocked when they hear me talk Spanish. I think it's hard for people to understand that we are NOT a race, but a bunch of different races whose ancestors just happened to immigrate to Central/South America and the Caribbean. I'm Argentinian but my grandparents and so forth came from Germany, Hungary and Spain. A lot of people in Argentina share this same lineage. So it's not really fair to assume that we're all these "dark, sexy" types, when Latinas come in ALL color and combinations imaginable!!

i don't get some of you people! why the hell is it that you think that you have to be a lighter hispanic to be beautiful!? Why do you AM love only lighter haired fair skinned women? skin color makes no damn difference. The whiter you are doesn't make you special.

I find Latinas to be absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm a AM dating a Latina for 5 yrs now. Must say that my family APPROVED too, fromt he start. Why? Because they saw her as a person first before they started asking questions about her lineage. Maybe everybody would get along better if we all did the same.
What's with all the hostility here? I heard that there is some hostility, especially in places like LA but don't understand why. I think that there are a lot of fine latina women out there. I also enjoy a lot of things about the latin culture like the food, the music, dance... My mission is to master the salsa! To all you fine latina females reading this, don't let the hate of some of these fools influence you too much. Most of us asian guys are all about love.

I think we Asians have the same problem. Many non-Asians think we are all the same. But nothing can be further from the truth. There are major differences between Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Koreans, Taiwanese, Filipinos,etc. We are all labelled as Asian, but in reality, we are so different.
I suspect it's the same in the Latin Countries too. I would not be able to tell the difference between a Mexican, Puerto Rican, A Spainard, A DR,etc.
There has been some occasions where
Latinas have shown interest in me. But to date, I've never dated any Latina because there is so much I don't understand about them. I don't know how their families would feel about their daughter dating/marrying an Asian person.
I do have a few Latina friends that I talk to about family, culture, etc. I'm also trying to learn more about Latin culture in general so that if and when I date a Latina, I am doing it for honorable reasons instead of some ignorant stereotype of what I think Latinas are.
I am a mexican? hispanic? latin? or whatever you want to call it female. I am unsure of my ancestors origin so I truly can't say. Many people have expressed confusion about what to call us. Well,I am just as confused as you are. I feel like it is more of an L.A. thing. I am from O.C. and have never had this problem. You know it really doesn't matter to me. I consider myself an american. I don't know how to speak spanish for one, I have never cooked any mexican food in my life and wouldn't know how to. I am not square bodied or square assed either. I have a great body. I must admit that I don't look like your average latin female,I am very attractive with Light brn hair and hazel eyes but, I wish that asian men would not assume that we would not find them attractive. I find them very sexy in so many ways. I have dated a few and loved it. Come on asian cuties, if you like what you see take a chance, you may be surprised.

Please. Like Julio Iglesias is NATURALLY that way. That fool spends more time in the tanning salon than his son does! And Azucar Morena are dark-haired, but their features are still Caucasian. People from the southern regions of Spain tend to be dark-haired and brown eyed (because of the Arab rule they were under for centuries)! However, the farther north one goes, one sees that the hair gets fairer and the eyes get lighter. Either way, whether they are brown haired and brown eyed (with fake-ass tans like Julio and his retarded son), or blond and blue eyed, they are still Caucasian. And not as mixed w/native americans as the central americans are.

Hey whoever wrote that comment about throat slitting you're a real ignorant puss-bag. I am a hispanic whose parents were born in Spain yet I have dark skin. Just because you're from Spain doesn't mean you look like a Dane or a Swede. The SPanish are the most ethnic looking of all Europeans, including Italians. Have you had a look at Julio Iglesias or Pedro Almodovar? Or Azucar Moreno?
what i can't stand with some latina women is that they want a guy who treats them well and lament about how some of their own guys are too macho and such. well then why don't u ladies who claim this give soem guys a chance, no matter the race. i'm sick of those baseless complaints, either do something about it or just shut up. another thing i find interesting is that many times, latinas prefer filipinos due the similar spanish backgroud and cutlture( not thanks to cortez and the spanish empire). but for some of us asian gus who aren't pinoy, is it that big of a deal. i mean i'm chiense, but iget msitaken for pinoy and mexican at times, then they fidn out u're not and avoid u like the plague. i find thsi rude, at least white people who are racist politely give u the hint, latinos just blow u off or ignore u.

As AM 31 look 26yrs. 6'1" athletic build. Must say plenty Latinas look and smile at me. Why? I don't know? Never dated one. Most Central/South Americans have Asian decent from Asian migration thousands of years ago. Have you been to charming small villages deep in Mexico? The children look more Asian than Asian children here in US. But I LOVE Latinas...

I am a hispanic female dating an asain male. I didn't know there was so much tention between the races until I came to L.A. I feel like the AA women look at us like why is he dating her and not one of us. I am not your average looking latin type, I am quite attractive so I feel people let it slide more. I also can speak chinese quite well and feel like that helps. I have no problem with the older folks, its the youner ones that make the faces and stare. Its all so confusing to me. Hispanic is not a race. We have to remember that there are Native American Indians in south,central, and latin america. The american public tends to think native americans only live in the U.s. Also, many native indian groups in latin countries have lost their culture and they conformed to the spanish culture.Also, we need to realize, just because a country was colonized by white spanish europeans, that doesnt mean every single person in that country is of mixed spanish blood. ANd a person's last name doesnt really truly define a person ethnicity.This is because throughout history, people have been forced to change their names. For example, you can not say that some filipinos are hispanic because they have spanish names.However, some filipinos do have spanish blood. So we have to say the same thing about hispanics.
If I were married to a light-skinned Hispanic girl, Mexican, Central or South American, I would certainly want to slit her throat.

AS an MA with a fair number of friends from the Dominican Re. Costa Rica and Mexico, this trashing of mestizos is telling of the Euro-biased color hierarchy that exists in Latin American societies.
