Currently I am going to college where I am in competition with this one black guy for this one Mexican chick.
Do I stand a chance against him? He is tall and atheletic. Basically, the player, bad boy type. He has loser written all over his face.
I know I could spend more on her and go places with her. But, would she go for me, a smaller Asian guy?

I want to ask this question for specifically the Mexican American Latinas: do you look more for looks in a guy or his personality and stable career? I always get the feeling that they are tired of the player types in their own race and those who date and marry Asian men do so more out of the fact is an exceptional breadwinner, caring husband and father and not necessarily that he is a hot lover or good looking hunk. Am I right on this?

I too, love Mexican gals. That is, that I like the young and hot ones. Often, I find that these are usually the ones who already have boyfriends by the time they reached development age. It is hard to find an attractive one who is still available in her 20s. Where do I go besides the clubs?
There is this one girl I like at the university library. She is a front desk worker. I always borrow books I don't read just to get in line and go up to see her face and gorgeous eyes. She gives me the occasional "eyes". She got no ring on, so I hope I have a chance. But, by me always giving her the "eyes" she will know what is up. I don't want to be no stalker.
Shall I just slip her a note telling her how beautiful she is and give her my number and email? Should I just ask her if she would like to talk? Would she be available to join me for a drink after work? Man, I like that girl so much. But, what can I do? The more I sit and do nothing, the more likely other guys would make the first move and ask her.

No one is pressuring you or any other Latina for that matter to be dating an Asian man. You shouldn't date someone only for their race, sexual curiosity or stereotypes. I hate this because, we as Asian guys always have this stacked against our favor. Why can't people date someone for who they are, for who they are on the inside? No Asian guy is out there looking for a hot tamale either. We just want to date whomever we want because of love and similarities. By the way, here on the West Coast, Asian guys have no problem attracting Mexican and Guatemalan chicks. I, however, hear that on the East Coast, Puerto Rican and Cuban girls don't give the time of day to Asian guys because they only go for bad boys and players?

the same can be said about the latin population as a whole as well. always remember that you're dating an individual not the race. but in your case, you might as well don't even think about it. i don't see why any AM would want to date you from what prejudiced words you've written.

I am Hispanic female in NY. Have never dated a man of Asian ethnic roots. But I see I don't need to if all I wanted to do was find out if they were different from any other ethnic group males. I see by the comments regarding this topic that they act in much the same way as any other male anywhere else on the planet!! And so do their parents !!

Hey people,
I was talking with my mom about cultural differences. I think one thing that asians and hispanics share is a sense of culture. With culture comes traditions and respect. Now I have friends of ALL colors, but white and black people seem to have lost their culture and it appears that they make it up as they go along. Now excluding FOBs, border sisters and chola types.......I think that Asian-Americans and Hispanic-Americans can have a better understanding of one another's background. I love learning a little korean for my sweetie, and he tries to show off his spanish for me. Eventhough English is both our first language. That just shows how much we like and respect each others background and family. Damn I love my sexy asian freak!
