WHAT YOU SAY

[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
Let's not deny it, that all the Asians (whatever nationality) are seen in the same fashion, usually negatively.

We can all plead to others that there are differences within and among different Asian groups, but would it matter?

Hell no.

Oftentimes, negative portrayals are conducive to violence. When Chinese faced a host of societal and judicial discrimination in the early days of settlement in US, were the other Asians exempt? When Japanese were incarcerated in WWII, were all Asians exempt? How about the Vietnam War, the 1992 L.A. Riots, the Japan bashing, the current Chinese-USA standoffs and crisis?

To them, we are all the same. Oftentimes, it means the SAME ENEMIES.

"But, to answer your question, yes I am proud of my 6,000 year Chinese race and civilization"

Do you really expect for me to believe this statement? I know that it is a cover up. The truth is that I have read your comments so many times on different message board thoroughly. I believe that you have lost your cultural identity. You do not know who you are. This is something Indian Asian do not practice. We are a proud culture and community. Religion and family is of great value to us. You may not realize this but you are disgrace to Chinese. This is some of the behavior I have been speaking of. Everyone gets so touchy and disappointed when I speak of certain things with the Chinese. This person calling himself (It Happens) is a prime example of one of the many weakness within a social structure within Chinese Asian. This sort of thing can be corrected with the proper upbringing and value taught. I have no hatred for the Chinese Asian. I just feel that he has so many weaknesses within the social order that should be looked at closely and perhaps properly corrected.

Sad isn't it,
Steven you know that your words are infantile. There is no need for me to elaborate on something that has already been proven as a fact. Indians are so recognized within the Asian community. I am quite accepted by colleage and workmates. Your point is quite irrelevant indeed, unfortunately. In England I was accepted as well as here in the United States. I have not once felt shunned, even after the 9/11.

"You indians should drown a few of your own"
This statement is quite disgusting. Whoever wrote this is not a human being but some sort of savage beast or a robot. No human being in their right mind would say such sadistic wicked words. This was obviously not written by a human, but by some sort of diseased wild animal that needs to be put out of misery.
I want to apologize editor for writing so many words. I had to respond to these statements and became carried away.

sad isnt it?
Oh please, we indians not recognized in the asian community?, and what asian groups make up this community? koreans? chinese? japanese? Thats a lot of diversity. We are just as successful if not more so than the chinese, silicon valley is full of indians. You know you shouldn't take what batchu says to be true and then base all indians off of it, don't be mad at us for him.

"I don't need to feel accepted. I'd rather be hated than be a slave in the minds of others."

Why do you care so much about what is in the minds of OTHERS? I can care less. But I'd rather be hated than to SUBMIT to others, I'd rather be hated than to WILLINGLY becoming a servant or slave for others.

it happens,

communism also made the immigrants from former Soviet Union very aggressive. No wonder, after having worked hard for decades without any positive result and having seen that lazy people were raised up among the Soviets. That must have the Armenians from there more aggressive, too.

I think Middle Easterners would be more sympathic if they came from countries where there's no more influence of "royal" dictators. They can be courageous, but should not worship the shahs and sheikhs.

The Chinese are on the same category as Muslims in the minds of Americans. There is a perceived threat that China is ultimately anti-Western and bent on overthrowing the white man's status quo. The Chinese are one of the few who refuse to kowtow to whites as other Asians do.

I don't need to feel accepted. I'd rather be hated than be a slave in the minds of others.

experience,

I have never really come into personal contact with a Turkish Muslim before, but I have a longtime penpal who seems very educated and polite.

I guess the rudeness of the Armenians here in USA must be something they inherited from the Turks, after living amongst them for over a thousand years.

But, even some of the FOB Arabs and Persians here can be rude and loud too, but after a couple years, they acculturate and become more softer and civilized.

tell me,

Nah, man, it is just a preference. I have grown up around Armenian and Persian people and I have always been attracted to their deep set eyes, portruding nose and prominent chins. They have very sophisticated look for women. There is nothing wrong, I just think that Chinese mixing with Middle Eastern women would result in beautiful children. I have a right to think what I want to think.

But, to answer your question, yes I am proud of my 6,000 year Chinese race and civilization.

You are correct. The chinese are not accepted on the east coast and not many people like them very much.

Well the Chinese have never been accepted as they are the first Asians to land on American shores facing the most discrimination. Oh well, in spite of everything we've been through, we've still managed to prosper (well most of us that is) whereas you Indians are not even recognized in the Asian community. Dislike us all you want, when you finally receive recognition, come back to us. Oh and please don't waste your time responding if your gonna cop out by calling me immature or infantile like you always do. Please show me that you can argue by actually proving a point.

No one kills their kids, at least not more so than the chinese drowning baby girls back in the day, but then again why don't you go attack that?

You Indians should also drown a few of your own, getting more and more populated by the second. Gotta hand it to you though, 1/3 of America's size and more than three times the population.

You are correct. The chinese are not accepted on the east coast and not many people like them very much.

But people love Indian cabbies, becuase they're the best drivers in the world. No seriously they are.

it happens,

I know who you are. Whats with this persian fetish you have? You are all over the website with this Persian, Turkish MiddEast fetish. Do you at all like your own culture? How do you feel about your ethnic background? I am curious, what do you think of your own nationality? How do you feel about it? Are you somewhat ashamed? What do you find wonderful about your own culture and upbringing?
tell me    Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at 09:56:04 (PST)    [152.163.188.161]
it happens,

yes, even Arab immigrants of rural descent are relatively polite. They are not the "classic" conservative type of Muslim some people expect them to be.

I thought Turkish would be more popular in the US for their rudeness which is already well-known in Europe and by the Armenians who have suffered much under Turkish rule.

How can Chinese face the highest level of acceptance and hostility at the same time?!?

Easy, all the Chinese "think" they are the most accepted while all others know they aren't. I don't know how it is on the west coast but on the east coast i don't think Chinese are most liked.

experience,

Here in the West Coast parts of USA, I have never had much opportunity to come into contact with Turkish Muslims. But, I have met Armenians from Turkey. And, they are very educated and polite people. It is the Armenians from the former Soviet Union who are more loud and rude.

The Arabs and Persians are polite too, and their younger generations think and act no differently from whites and Asian-Americans.

it happens,

Arabs and Persians are often conservative, too. But the strangest incidents might happen when you meet a Turkish guy who combines "traditions" with modern lifestyle in a way that it looks surprisingly un-social.

Example: A Turkish guy has a premarital relationship with a WF. He goes to her, is friendly, like any softcore WM would be, too. But suddenly the Turkish guy turns out to be tyrant and expects the WF to cook for him, wash his clothes every day, he might even punish her. The strange thing is that the Turkish guy will say: "It's just Turkish tradition." Add that the Turkish guy behaves like a or similar to a common WM outside of his house, he might appear non-traditional, drinking alcohol which is forbidden by Islam. But regarding women he will become a "faithful Muslim" again.

Turkish immigrants often use a very unfriendly language, even if they are loyal citizens. Among Turkish it seems to be more difficult than among other immigrants to distinguish the "good" from the "bad guys" because they are all openly aggressive.
