WHAT YOU SAY
[This page is closed to new input. --Ed.]
hey im just curious but in most peoples minds, what type of martial art or fighting type do yous think is the best when it comes to no rules fighting(real fighting). Everyone seems to think wushu and shaolin are the best but when it comes to a real life fight, i personally dont think they are as effective.

gracies suck
They are not calling jujutsu brazilian jujitsu.
When jujitzu was introduced to brazil, some brazilians adapted it and made theyre own version of it, Brazilian Jujitsu. the brazilian version is alot more to do with submisions. And i think they have shown respect by leaving the word jujitsu in the name.
Personally i am a 2nd degree black belt in an adapted version of silat and shoot wrestling, it combines submission moves with precision attacks.

How the hell can you even throw Tiger Woods in the questionnaire referring to Asian Men? So what if he's half Asian. Everybody in the world considers him a Black man, first and foremost. Was it due to the lack of Asian athletes represented in sports?

Yo! Look out for my man C.F. CHEN of the LA Dodgers organization. 6-1 185lbs.
Could be the first Chinese Outfielder in MLB.
Single handedly defeated Japan & Korea in the Baseball World Cup last week. Went 4 for 4 with a homer against Korea and 2 for 3 with 2 HRs & 3 RBI against Japan to take home the Bronze. This dude is sick man. Same guy who took Chan Ho Park deep in the Asian Games few years ago. Hope he moves up to the Majors soon.
*Baseball Word Cup final:
Gold: Cuba (as usual)
Silver: USA
Bronze: Taiwan
(Japan gave it a run going undefeated 7-0 in the preliminaries, defeating Cuba for the first time.)
Arguably the top five baseball countries in the world are USA, CUBA, KOREA, JAPAN, & TAIWAN. Three of the top five are Asian countries, yet Asians are under-represented in Major League Baseball. Whats wrong with this picture?
Update: Yakult Swallows pitcher Kazu Ishii has decided to stay with his current team. Too bad! Thats one less new Asian player in MLB next season.
Whats the word from Korea? Is Lee coming over?

Yo, is anyone into "Ultimate Fighting?"
Why are these Brazilians calling Juzitsu as "Brasilian Juzitsu?"
They didn't invent it, where is the repect? These Brazilian asshole are arrogant. I noticed other martial artist from other forms always respect the country of origin.
Gracies suck!

i think it'll be a while before you see any asians truly dominating a contact sport like basketball or football...and when that day does happen, the talent has to be homegrown, not imported from another country.

I read what Mr "SINO SAMOAN STYLEz" wrote Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 22:47:37 (PDT) :
[[... next month Beijing will be playing host to the first ever challenge between the National Thai Kickboxing squad and the Chinese Wushu team (highest tally of golds at the last Wushu world championships). The Chinese haven't selected most of their World Champions for this meeting, but they still seemed pretty confident in their buildup to the event.]]
Could you give me informations about the last Wushu world champinship. I mainly would like to know who won the "heavyweight division" tournament (fight not tao). Or, if you don't have the exact informations, where could I get these (web site) ?
PS : my e-mail address is jeronimo.sanchez@wanadoo.fr if you wish to answerme directly.
Thanks in advance !

Typical Hollywood script...Asian man can't finish the job...Two virile large white men come to save the day. Good thing the Dbacks won. Randy Johnson showed support of BH Kim on Leno last night...said he has a bright future ahead and it was just two mistakes in his hopefully, long and successful career.

Diamondbacks are the champs!!!
Screw you Yankee fans! You should of lost to Oakland anyway. B.H. Kim, he was just unfortunate but he's still young. Afterall, even the best post season closer of all time blew the last game for the Yanks!
Diamondbacks win!

B.K. is the next "Mr. Automatic". He was dealin' in both games. Struck out the side in his first appearance. The Yankees got lucky.
The 22 year old Kim will be one of the top relievers in the game. And with this kind of experience, he's seen a lot for his age. Man, he aint got nothin' to lose.
Step aside Rivera, the Dynasty is over and we got a new closer in town.

Man, ByungHyun Kim has been terrible! The goat of this year's World Series. But as a Yankee fan, I'm happy they pulled those tricks off. I guess Kim won't be showing up in the first question of this poll anytime soon.

Yankees win 4-3.
Oh man! Why did it have to be an
asian reliefer!!!!!!!!
Summary:
Tino Martinez and Derek Jeter broke
out of hitting slumps with dramatic
two-out homers in the ninth and 10th
innings as the New York Yankees rallied
to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3
and even the World Series at two
games apiece on Wednesday.
Martinez had gone 0-for-9 in this
World Series but sent his first
pitch from Arizona closer
Byung-Hyun Kim over the wall in
right center to bring home
Paul O'Neill, who had singled,
and tie the game at 3-3 with his
ninth postseason home run.

Alfonso Soriano had a good year. After playing about 4 years in Japan's minor league, he's starting a good career in the U.S. Majors. Speaks no english. Fluent in spanish and Japanese.

OK, I know many non-Asians will question why we tend to favor athletes of our own race and color regardless of whether they were born here or from Asia.
Let me tell you that in all sports, there is racial favoritism. I just saw it last night.
Figure skater, Michelle Kwan, has never been the darling of the sports public as she deserves. I just witnessed this on TV, when the Skate America title was held in Colorado.
No one cheered for Kwan, although she was spectacular by all means in her performance. The crowd's favorite was the runner up, Sarah Hughes.
Kwan won, and the judges don't lie whether the white people in the crowd like it or not.

La AA sports fanatic,
Everything you said is dead on. We got to support all asian athletes. Wether they be Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Chinese, Laos etc.
