WHAT YOU SAY

I would like to state the fact that Paul Kariya is the best Asian athlete role model (even though he's half white, but at least it's from the mother's side). Kariya never thought about the money, he didn't go to the major jr a leagues as a teen and get paid and get drafted by 18, he chose to take the scholarship to U of Maine and received a B.A. while making the deans list, AND winning the Hobey Baker! Kariya could've chosen to go pro when he was while he was in his late teens/early 20's, but wanted to play for Canada in the Olympics instead (had to be amateur to play). Now Kariya is on the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, a horrible team that never really got Kariya-their best player and ticket seller- any good teammates other than Selanne, but Kariya still says he will remain a Duck forever and does not want to get traded. Although Ichiro and Chang are honorable mentions, Kariya should be the man (I do not consider Tiger Woods Asian btw).

P.S. Think Park would get along with John Rocker? Doubt it, Rocker hates Asians (and Spanish, and blacks, and homos, even white people that aren't American, and even hicks like himself).

Mr Be real for one your missing the point. the second thing, the topic here is asian athletes. and as for your asian pride (if you are asian)you need to take a good long look at yourself in the mirror before you go calling anyone a "delusional looser"

Apolo Ohno was on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Although fallout from the SI Curse is sure to follow, having national exposure for a golden athlete is still appreciated. Thank you, Sports Illustrated.

What's the big deal with Sarahara Oh and the majors? Sure, he wasn't a big superjock like today making obscene millions, but does it really hurt just to give him a brief mention.

There are other Asians in sport history. The Chinese table tennis team dominated the sport in the 70s. In the 1940's, there was an Japanese American point guard in the NBA. While these athletes aren't likely to thrill a large audience, do we have to bash on them because they're Asian, as opposed to black or white?

Watch out for Alex Kim, the next asian tennis sensation.

True to the soul ABC thinks the Sarahara Oh could have hit all those homers in the majors?
HAHAHAHAHA !! You delusional loser!
Even you said the majors league was and is better, so with better pitchers you think Oh would have even come close? Remember they had better pitchers in the 60's and the 70's not like today.
I'm all for Asian pride but don't get carried away , lets wait awhile before we pat ourselves on the back.
