Jim Parque (ChiSox pitcher) is half Vietnamese not Craig Paquette. At least I don't think Craig Paquette is half Asian.

I believe Bruce Chen is full-blooded Asian from Panama (not American). I could be wrong.

espn.com has a drop-down box that I can filter by country. I think this is place of birth, not ethnicity. Craig House and Dave Roberts of the Dodgers are listed under Japan, but it looks like they were just born there.

Hey everyone,
about the Chinese basketball players in/coming to the US. You know, I was so excited about Wang Zhizhi when he first came during the late part of last season. But now, I'm not as enthused because of another international ball player on the team, Dirk Nowitski. Holy crap this guy is good. The psychotic thing is his age...he is SO YOUNG. Like Wang, he's a seven footer then has the outside range. The thing that I notic is, doesn't Wang take too many three point shots? I mean, you gotta have more game then to be a shooter y'kno. Still, it's real early cause he hasn't even played an entire season, maybe after his first two full seasons he'll blossom like Dirk did. Menk Bateer...eh...I don't know how NBA quality he is. I hope he does well though. Of course, Yao Ming is the total star. I hope he explodes onto the NBA. He has all the pontential in the world and is learning how to use it. He'll be only 20 when he goes to the NBA next year..can't wait! Have any of you heard about that 7'10 North Korean guy? Too bad that guy can't come over here because of all the diplomatic stuff. Though he isn't too talented, he'd be a great rebounder and shot blocker. Besides the three chinese players that made of the "walking great wall"..who else do you think in the CBA has the calibur to compete in the NBA?

Things should heat up quite a great deal when ao Ming comes over. Although Menk Bateer is an impressive physical specimen at 6'11" and 290 pounds, he is more of a 'roadblock' type center than anything else -- think an Asian Todd McCollough or Greg Ostertag. I wish him the best though -- he must have trained very hard to make it to the NBA. Wang Zhi Zhi on the other hand, has amazing potential. He's like his teammate Dirk Nowitzki, although I'm not sure if Wang is as good as he is. He's still formidable though. And Yao -- don't even get me started with Yao Ming. He will be revolutionary, like a tall, graceful, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar type of center that comes once every 20 years. To add insult to injury to all the other centers that will play him, he's 3 inches taller than Kareem, and weighs roughly 25 pounds more (7-5, 265)! So far, several very tall centers (7-2 plus) have tried to walk in Kareems' steps, to limited success. Examples include Shawn Bradley, Manute Bol, etc. Only a few players like Hakeem Olajuwon and Shaquille O'Neal (keep in mind that Shaq is not a Olajuwon type finesse player -- more of a Wilt Chaimberlin Goliath) have crossed the threshold into legendary status. With some weight training and some good meat-heavy nutrition in America, Yao could be next - keep your eyes peeled.

He's no longer with us, but no male athlete has done more to promote the image of Asian American men than Bruce Lee. He's a huge influence to modern bodybuilders, martial artists, and anybody who wants to improve their bodies with exercise. Not to mention impressing legions of females with his fantastic physique and bridging the gap between brainy philsopher and don't-piss-him-off hombre. If there's an ideal of a golden man that young AMs should aspire to be, a role model, it's Bruce. And oh yea, he was pretty good at his sport too.

Another Chinese (well, he is ethnic Mongolian), Menk Bateer has just joined the Denver Nuggets. Wang Zhizhi should play for another team as a starter. He can score even with limited minutes. When will Yao Ming come over? So, we need more Asians in the NBA!!!

I'm just buzzing with excitement and anticipation for Chin-Feng Chen's season. I have a feeling he's gonna make the Dodgers this year and have a good season. Maybe even ROY (although Ishii will have a strong claim to that).

Tiger woods is only a quarter black. The other quarter from his father is white. thus, he's more asian than he is black.
