Firesnake,
Don't worry about it. I really don't want my kids to play to hockey anyway.

JOHN, they say Dodger stadium is pitcher friendly. Mayber this explains Park's struggles in Texas. I'm inclined to believe this because Dodgers pitchers this year-Odalis Perez, Omar Daal, Andy Ashby, Hideo Nomo, Kazuhisa Isshi- are outstanding at home but are horrendous in away games.

AA Dude,
I agree with you he was the pioneer. kind of like jackie robinson. he took a chance to come here and prove he could play at the best level. he could have been embarrased in 2 countries. he risked averything he did in japan to come out here. if he failed i dont think there would be that many asian players in the majors. plus many of the scouts wouldn't even consider going to asia to scout. alot of the japanese media and people around japanese baseball all bad mouthed him for "turning his back" on them. but after he started doing good then came all the good quotes from the same exact people. now when a Ichiro comes along and says he wants to play in the mlb. there nothing but praise from the very beginning.

Why are there foreign players listed for the image of Asian American men? Ichiro and Chan Ho are not American's. Where is Benny Agbayani (baseball)and David Tanabe?

What happen to chan ho park? he was great with la dodgers but, with the rangers he is doing poorly. rangers should send him to triple a to tune him up. i think he maybe either still injury or that injury did not give him enough time to train during sring training.

You know I really feel sorry for NHL fans. They have such an inferiority complex. Always out to pooh-pooh and bad-mouth the NBA. All because about only an average of a million folks watch the NHL finals. They think they have to find ways to vindicate their sport. Buncha fruit cakes. Just enjoy your finals and quit being so crabby.
Props to all hockey players and much love to the fans.
Go Lakers!

On the list of names of athletes on this poll, I don't even see Hideo Nomo. People forget that Nomo at his peak was about as popular as Ichiro. He also won Rookie of the Year and was the starting pithcer for NL All Stars. Before he came along, how many Asian baseball players can you name?
Come on, linebacker Dat Nguyen? I've never even heard of him!

One bit of advice for Yao Ming:
If he wants to succeed at the NBA level, he's got to have heart and post up inside and not be afraid to bang bodies with the big guys. This would give him more success than his Maverick countryman, Wang Zhizhi.

One of many reasons that the NHL Finals are better than the NBA Finals.
David Tanabe, Japanese-American defenseman for the Carolina Hurricanes.
(ok, so he's out with a broken wrist, but so what!)
Go 'Canes!
